Flying on the back of a magical metal dragon with a princess of a deserted island like a rescue mission in a fairy tail was never so awkward. Calypso was gasping and yelling in excitement at everything we flew over as if she'd never been off her island ever before. Which, I guess, is true."What's that?" She asked me as we flew over the busy streets of Manhattan.
"It's a car." I replied, trying to focus on flying Festus while answering her questions.
"Oh, what's that?"
"It's a trash can. Seriously, how do you not know what a trash can is?"
"Oh my, what's that?" Calypso pointed to a man hijacking a car. The car alarm started blaring.
"Oh, just New York," I shrugged it off as police officers were already apprehending the man.
"I don't like New York. He isn't very nice."
I held in a laugh. Calypso continued to point at things and I continued to name them as we soared across Massachusetts. Gaea had told me to meet her Boston, near Fenway Park, for whatever reason. Maybe she wanted to buy tickets for Calypso and I to a game. Highly unlikely, but I could still hope.
I evaluated the area near Fenway Park. The streets were crowded with tourists and baseball enthusiasts, so no clear landings there. It wasn't raining, so the dome was open. The field could be a good landing place if there weren't people spraying water on it before the game started. Parking lot? If I wanted to crush a lot of cars that would be a great idea; otherwise, no.
The field was my best bet. I pulled on Festus's reigns and we started to slope downwards.
"What are we doing? We're going to crush those poor people!" Calypso shrieked as we came closer to the field. To my surprise, none of the people noticed us.
"Trust me, sunshine. I can nail any landing... Without too many casualties." I said confidently, though I was far from confident.
Then there was screaming. The field sprayers ran off in different directions, making way for Festus. People in the stands started squealing and running, and others stayed like they knew this was normal. Probably Gaea's monsters, I assumed.
"What's going on?" Calypso asked. A crevice had started forming in the field, leading down to what seemed to be a bottomless pit.
"I don't know, it's probably Gaea's entrance to a secret castle or something... But I would prefer a gateway with doves on it instead of a crack in the ground." I said. I helped Calypso off Festus.
Instead of a mythical courtyard with a princess in a tower appearing, a giant popped out of the hole instead, and then it closed. No pretty castles for Leo.
"What? Gaea has personal escorts for us too? Dang!" I yelled, though I knew the giant wasn't going to lead us to our dream homes.
