Thinking back, it is still hazy to me how I wound up being in-charge of Jungkook's birthday decorations. I believe I was half drunk of sleep when I agreed to it over the phone with Nina. Anyway, it so happened that on the day of the youngest BTS member's birthday, I perched up a ladder blowing away at rainbow-like balloons. V had taken Jungkook away on some excursion to keep the party a surprise, so the rest of BTS were running about Rapmonster's place assembling necessities and decorations for the celebration with my instructions. When I first arrived, I was quite dumbstruck to see J-Hope open the door for me wearing an incredibly cute pair of shorts. I had seen pictures of them in casual attire, but definitely not a coconut and monkey printed short. Despite being four feet above the ground, tying up bright red balloons, I could not help grinning at the monkey-doodled print that scurried about.
Minutes later I heard an ''AISHHH'' from the adjoining room. Soon enough, Jin and Yoongi came to me and said. ''We forgot the candles, give us ten minutes, we'll be right back.'' I groaned loudly and waved them off. ''Of, I almost forgot, one of our friends will drop by. He won't be there for the party, so he told us that he'd come to leave his present here. Don't let him sit still! Get him to help out with the deco.''
''Who is it?'' I wondered out loud.
''G-Dragon,'' Suga replied nonchalantly.
''What?!!'' I will make no ammends to my absolutely ridiculous expression at that time. My eyes bulged out and my jaw dropped as wide as it could when he mentioned G-Dragon. Finally I would meet the man of my dreams, and we would fall in love with each other and have half-Korean, half-Amrican babies and... Alright I got a little ahead of myself. Well I know for a fact that all you BTS fans have had such fantasies.
Jin burst out chortling, bending halfway and smacking himself repeatedly at the amusing sight of me. ''Did you really believe that?'' My dreams were dashed. I frowned upon my cruel torturers and went back to my task.
A few minutes later, the door-bell echoed. Rapmonster, Jimin and J-Hope were upstairs, rummaging about the utilty room for crepe, which left me downstairs. The friend they spoke of was much older than I expected. He was a middle aged man with a wide nose and a medium build. Putting my hand out, I smiled and greeted him. ''Hello, I'm Jane, you must be Jungkook's friend.''
The man gave me a funny look. ''I guess so.''
''And the bag you're holding? His present?''
He looked down at the fancy black bag and back at me. ''Uh, yes. I bought it for the boys.''
''Daebak!'' I replied and took it out of his hands. ''Come on now, we've loads to do.'' I lead the confused looking individual to the living room, where we planned to have the cake, and gave him the cut-out letters. ''The ladder's in the right corner of the room. Hang them up here to read out 'Happy Birthday,' I am assuming you can spell.'' The man gave me a dazed look and muttered something in Korea.
Just as I was placing lavender coloured macaroons on a bowl, Nina came in. ''Hey! Where are the boys?''
''Hmm,'' I glanced around to see a rather shy looking boy, with a small smile lagging just behind Nina.
''This is Kang Chul, Jungkook's friend. He wanted to leave Jungkook's present and take a look at the preparations, so I gave him a lift here.''
I bowed back at the boy in confusion. ''There's another one of Jungkook's friends here too. I was only told about one.''
Nina frowned and took a bite out of a rice cake. ''Alright, let's all go and see who that is.'' She suddenly glowed and her eyes shone with emotion, all in an instant.
''Found anything we could use, J-Hope?'' I asked, despite not actually catching sight of him. Nina's expression was always a give-away.
He ignored me and went to kiss his girlfriend on her forehead. Kang Chul looked away embarased. ''Oh, hey, who's the other friend of Jungkook who arrived?'' she questioned when Jimin and Rapmon joined us. From the clueless looks on their faces, it was obvious they were not aware of the identity of the mysterious guest. Naturally, they all turned to me for answers, and I wordlessly led them to where I left the man.
''Bang Nim!'' they all shouted out in wonder and perhaps fear. The latter happened to be sticking the letter 'Y'.
''Bang-'' I felt the blood freeze in my veins. ''That's? Hitman Bang?'' The silence confirmed that it was the CEO of BigHit Entertainment, and partner of La CJ, Korea, that I had bossed around, and forced up a stool for decoration purposes.I mentally kicked myself and Rapmonster gave me a look that seemed to say, 'you are dead, girl.' To my immense relief, the man only laughed and greeted everyone. For the next ten minutes, Nina kept giving me these looks, which I knew were the faces she made when she was barely holding a fit of giggles in. My ears were red-hot with embarrassment. Luckily, my now known boss had found me 'amusing.' That was the exact word Suga used to translate what he had said. I still am unaware if it was a compliment, or an insult.
Within a matter of minutes, the preparations were completed and we all sat down to rest. Kang Chul had left, and V called Jin to inform us about the slight delay we would face. Apparently Jungkook had found something to his liking in a store, and refused to leave till he had bought an entire outfit to match. The news gave us room to chill for a while.
It was quiet, and glancing to my right, I found Nina looking phone. ''What is it?'' I asked, and tried to take a glimpse of the screen.
''It's not that,'' she assured me. Stubborn as ever, I looked anyway. Luckily, the girl was not glooming over the article I showed her the day before. I sighed in relief. Back when Nina and J-Hope met in the States, was a rival group to BTS called 4Slice. While the rivalry had been terrible, the series of unbelievable events that took place was the seed to the relationship between Nina and J-Hope. It also led to the disbanding of 4Slice. While the leader Tinda had left the life of an idol, he was as famous as ever. In a recent interview, he was asked about his love life. According to the article, he had said that he was 'still trying to get over the girl he had lost.' When he was asked to elaborate on his statement, he said that he had treated the 'mystery girl', terribly, and that it was after 'everything' that he realized he was falling for her, while she in turn had fallen for 'another.'
I have to admit, the girl has some sort of power over the hearts of men. They just fall head over heels for her. Poor J-Hope sometimes gets into this mood, where he doubts himself of being worthy for her. But it does not last long. The moment they are together, it is obvious how insanely in love they are with each other. The girl however always has this persisting sense of guilt that seems to last whenever she has to reject someone. She confided with me as to how much she detested being in the situation. And then there was me... dreaming of G-Dragon every minute of the day. Well, forget G-Dragon, any boy at all.
Minutes before Jungkook arrived, J-Hope mouthed at me to come away while Nina was distracted. I came upto him in curiosity. ''You know it's Nina's birthday in a week, yes?'' I gulped and kept a deadpan face. I had no idea! ''You have got to help me out with her present.'' I raised my eyebrows at him. Hobi gave a wide smile and whispered his plan out to me.
Hey guys! Sorry that took long. Hope you enjoy! :) Don't forget to like and comment! XoXoxoxo
