Summaries
Well this was actually long overdue. Summaries together with a cover are the things that pull in the readers and let me just say ive read some pretty really horrible and confusing story descriptions (Including my own) during my fan fiction hunt.
If you cant really write a description don’t feel bad because I can’t write one any better than most of you.
But sometimes there are just somethings that just piss me off likeBlah blah blah blah blah Will she avenge her parents? can Mary Sue save the day? Will all the characters completely over exaggerated and out of character? Will she fall with the guy? Will this story be completely boring and horrible and full of a lot of god damn clichés? But most importantly who ate my chocolate?
ME: *deletes book from library and reading lists*
If you wanat to add questions to your book im totally okay with that but do remember that these questions are not supposed to give away the whole entire story.
Another example of summaries I hate are those weird one quote from my book or insert some random ass quote cause it sounds nice summaries. Most of the time these don’t make any sense (unless its kpop but that’s a rant for another time) for example the book could be a Tokyo Ghoul book where the Oc forgets who she is but the summary is :“I never knew how much I really hate chocolate ice cream”
does chocolate ice cream has anything to do with the story? No
I think the best thing you could do just write a simple paragraph giving some details about your plot without giving anything away of course , it doesn’t have amazing but as long as youre trying and putting something out there that actually gives information its fine?
While I’m here ranting about summaries it’s about I time I change up some of my own
