I woke up the next morning to begin my day all over again. I placed on my second dress and trotted towards the kitchen to fix me a small snack to place on my belly. I opened the fridge, pantries, closets, but I was only able to find a half-empty jar of peanut butter and grand crackers. I wasn't the slightest bit of sad, for peanut butter is my favorite.
I washed it down with a cup of cold faucet water and began my duties.
I start with the dining room, for it is where the window is at and I love to look at the trees as I clean. I grab the bucket and wash rag and made my way to the dining room.
But to my surprise, there were two light brown planks nailed upon the window.
I walk closer towards the window. Disappointed that I can no longer see my reflection. Call me crazy if you'd like but I thought of the window as my friend. For it was so welcoming, allowing sunlight to come in and allowing me to see things that I will never see face to face. But now my friend is trapped by two planks.
I touch the planks, in an attempt to break it down and save my friend.

"Isabella!" I stop my actions immediately and turn to see that my master was fairly dressed in an all black suit with his shiniest leather shoes. His dark makeup hid his unemotional face and  I notice he has blue contacts on. Perhaps to blend in with the outside world. He stood in the middle of the stairway, looking down upon me.

"I will be going now, I expect the place to be perfect, have some wine, cheese, and crackers out. My colleagues are coming to visit."

"Sir Mochief, we have no more cheese and crackers. For we have run out of food for even me to eat" I spoke, looking down at the black wooden floors.

"Very well then, I shall go to the market and collect some food...but you will stay away from the window and do not attempt to take those planks down, for if you do, that will be your head"

"Yes sir Mochief" I spoke.

Never had my master spoke so calmly before, he has never settled a discussion with a "very well" nor has he been fine to get food.
What has happened to my master?

My master walked down the rest of the stairs and walk to the double doors. He opens it slightly and squeezes out, closing the doors behind him.

Now I am alone in the mansion beside the rats in the cellar. I smile, for it is how I like it. Alone. I don't have to worry about a beating from my master nor do I have to clean as hard.

I take my precious time walking to the all-red kitchen and going into the cabinets to get six wine glasses and two bottles of wine. I held the wine glasses by its tail and the wine bottles by its neck. I walk slowly to the living room which is similar to the room upstairs with the portrait of Jane minus the grand piano and the fireplace. I sat all six wines glasses upon the coffee table and filled each glass with the wine and sat the wine in the middle of the table.

My master's colleagues surely love to drink. However, I very much enjoy their company, for they are not as vexed as my master, they treat me well and sneak me food from the outside world.
My personal favorite is Callicus. He has smooth caramel skin with eyes that leaves me in a trance. I must say, my cheeks become hot when I am near him. He isn't too masculine but he has very shiny dark brown hair that is always held under a cap with the ends of his hair sticking out.

After I finished setting the table of wine, I confine my daily tasks when suddenly there was a knock at the door.
I held my breath, unsure if I should open the door.
No one has ever knocked on the door when sir Mochief isn't here. It's hardly ever normal for anyone to knock on the door, for it is my master who brings people over.

Another knock came towards the door, after another and another. I was certain the guest on the other side of the door wasn't leaving any time soon, perhaps I should leave the guest outside until my master comes, but I'm unsure of his reactions upon that action. Actually, I can open the door, using this action to be face to face with the world and feel the wind, or even see the trees without a window blocking my touch. Certainly, my master wouldn't notice, nor would he even know, for I will not leave the home, I will only look. Only look.

I heaved out a giant ball of oxygen that I hadn't known I was holding. I held the ends of my skirt and walked to the door, excitement fell upon me, for this will be the very first time I step foot out of this home.
I could no longer hold my wait, I opened the door to reveal a lady, her face is covered by a wi white umbrella.

"Take the basket" she merely says. She shoves the basket in my hand and began speeding off.

"Is this for sir Mochief madam? Should I announce that you have come?"
Although this is stupid because I was told not to touch the door, which is what I have done.

"No no, that basket is for you." the lady says. With those final words, she walked away, leaving me no time to ask another question. As she left, I looked at my surroundings, the trees were way bigger then I expected, they were bigger than the mansion, the ground was covered in yellow and brown leaves along with fallen twigs. The sky, as big and blue as in the window with the sun shining. I smiled, for it is a beautiful sight.
I could no longer enjoy the moment, for my master was the only thing running in my head. I don't know when he will be back so it's best for me to come back in the mansion which is what I did.
With the basket in my hand. I fiddled around with the handle.
Who was the lady?
How did she know of my existence when I knew nothing of hers?
What is in the basket and should I really open it?
I've never been filled with so many questions but the first thing on the list is to see what's in the basket.
