Getting back to my hotel room I still was buzzing from the show. Adrenaline was coursing through my veins and I needed an outlet. Deciding a quick run on the treadmill in the hotel gym was in order I changed clothes and down I went. Surely the gym would be abandoned by now, it was nearly 10:15 at night.
About 30 minutes into my run I got a text message from Riley. Deciding I'd run enough I stopped the treadmill and leaned against the side rail.
'6'6 & 4" 😒'
'Bummer. Cute?'
'So so'
'One time thing?' Riley wasn't like me in the sense that she was looking for a more serious situation. She wanted a boyfriend but her standards were so high that very few guys made the cut. Time and time again she's wondered if her standards were too high but I told her that thinking like that was nonsense. She knows what she wants and she should never settle for anything less.
'Well now it is! There is no way I can see him again' I laughed to myself as I pictured her face. Frustrated and rolling her eyes at me.
Looking at the time I figured I had enough time for a shower before Harry would be arriving for dinner.
Just as I was leaving to head back up to my room my phone began buzzing in my hand. Looking down my eyes widened as I saw Matt's name flashing across my screen.
"Hello?" I said tentatively. An upset Matt was never fun to deal with and upsetting Val was a sure fire way to ruffle his feathers.
"What happened with you and Val?" He asked shortly.
"We may or may not have gotten into a bit of a tiff earlier today." I said slowly. I wasn't sure how much she'd told him and I wasn't about to let on more information that would get me in trouble.
"She described it as more than a bit of a tiff." He responded.
"Well I mean...depends on how you look at it really." I laughed uncomfortably. The hotel gym wasn't exactly where I wanted to do this.
"Look whatever you got into is between the two of you, I've learned to not get in the way, but one of you has to apologize!" He said. I knew any fighting between any of us was stressful for him.
"Well she went through my mail when she shouldn't have!" I exclaimed in my defense.
"And she's going to continue doing so. You're practically her child and she's going to look after you as such." He said.
"And she should've just thrown that damn letter away. Why bring it up? She knew it wouldn't do any good." I said rolling my eyes.
"Look I don't know why she did what she did but it's done. Now apologize!" He ordered. I wanted to stomp my foot like a child but I knew it wouldn't do me any good. He was in a bad mood, usually was whenever someone got Val upset, and nothing I said would get through to him.
"Fine! I'm not happy about it though." I threw in.
"Don't care." With that he hung up. With a frustrated groan I sat down on a nearby bench. I'll wait a little bit before making that phone call.
