Calm Before the Storm

It was the calm before the storm, I could tell. The sky was a pinkish tint, but I could see way off in the distance a gray storm cloud looming, threatening to ruin all the good things. I had always had this 6th sense. I was always able to tell when a storm was coming. And I had a bad feeling about this one. No one ever listened to my warnings, but already I had been right about the

storms twice. I knew this was coming. Of course, I had no idea how bad of a scale this storm was going to be.

The sirens were screaming. So was my little brother, Landon. He was at the age of innocence. No idea what was going on, but because everyone else was tense and panicked, so was he. I tried to calm him.

Our television screen and lights were flickering. The weather lady, Alice McHarper was on our television screen, saying "This could be the worst storm in the Oklahoma area in a long time. I advise you to head down to your storm shelters now."
