Chapter 12

Patryk's P.O.V

Me and Paul went home the next day, and everything went back to normal. Tord called us over one day saying he had a request

"Guys! I found an awesome game we can play!!!"

"What about the army?" Paul asked, even though he didn't mind not gong back

"I sent everyone home since I'm so nice" Paul and I laughed and Tord gave us a death glare, "And because most wanted to watch what was happening down town with the superhero thing, anyway I want us to play The Midnight Game!!"

"Where have I heard this before??" I looked down trying to remember

"Umm? Ok so we just stay up till mid-"

"NO WERE NOT PLAYING THAT!!!" It finally hit me, its when a ghost known as The Midnight Man chases you around, "Are you stupid?! Do you want to die!?"

"Oh my gosh Patryk, we all know its not real! Oh no a dead man is gonna kill me!!"

"Huh?" Paul looked at me and Tord confused, "Ok what's the game?"

"Look you invite the Midnight Man in your house you basically play Hide n Seek with him, but you can't stop moving and if your candle goes out you have to relight it within ten seconds, if you don't you circle yourself with salt, but he still may come even when the game is over" I glared at Tord, "Which is why we shouldn't play it!!"

"Patryk we all know those games aren't real!" Tord laughed

"Ok have fun! I'm not gonna be a part of this!"

"Really? So lets say I'm wrong and it is real, Lets say Paul doesn't relight his candle in time and doesn't get in the salt circle in time" Tord did a motion indicating death

"Then he's coming with me!"

"Um, Pat sorry to break it to you, but I kinda want to do this..."

"Wonderful... Fine ok, I'll play..."

"Patryk you don't have to, I'm pretty sure Tord's right, I don't think its real"

"Nope, not risking it!"

"Awesome! Ok so we have till 11:30 until we should start preparing! So lets go see the destruction the superhero's caused!!" Tord smiled grabbing his keys, "Last one there is gonna die by the midnight man!"

-11:30 PM-

"Ok so here's the candles, lighters, paper, needle, and my bedroom door!!" We were in Tord's room sitting on the floor

"What am I getting myself into?"

"Ok, here's a pen, right your full name! First, middle, and last!" We did as we were told and wrote our names. We then followed the other instructions. We pricked our finger with the needle and let a drop of blood fall on the paper

"Wow this is edgy..." Tord muttered. We turned off every light in the house, placed the papers in front of the door. We relighted out candles with lighters everyone had, I had to borrow one from Paul, we knocked on the door 21 times and knocked once more at 12. Tord opened the door and we blew out our candles, closed the door and relit them.

The Game Begins

I didn't want to go alone so I stayed with Paul, Tord on the other hand wanted every thrill so went alone. Tord told us all the don'ts before we started and all the ways you know the midnight man is close

Do NOT turn on any lights during the game.

Do NOT use a flashlight during the game.

Do NOT go to sleep during the game.
