A/N: The support is incredible, thank you so much!! ♡ I really want to see where this story goes. :)
Camila's POV
I enter Shawn's number into my phone. I can't. I just can't. I refuse to trust a guy again. I know I'll end up self-detonating again. Thinking about Shawn: the dark, brooding, lanky, brown-haired bad boy, how did I ever think this was a good idea?
Narrator
Camila's sorrowful coal-black eyes glistened with tears just waiting to flow out. Elena walked in worried and sad to see her friend feeling blue. "What's wrong Mila?" she asked.
Receiving no answer she sighed and noticed the number entered into Camila's cell phone. "Shawn huh?" she said.
"Yeah." replied Camila.
With that she broke down, her body shaking with sobs. Her brunette locks draped in a mess over her shoulders. "You deserve the best and if Shawn treats you right then why not give it a shot," Elena said, "I see it in your eyes when you talk about him."
"B-but, I don't know him." whispered Camila.
"Give him a chance? Maybe." pleaded her best-friend.
Elena engulfed her in a hug which was interrupted by a sudden buzz coming from Mila's phone. She looked over and a notification popped up on her screen:
Message from (416) XXX-XXXX
So, uhm hey it's Shawn. I just got a little excited and got your number from a friend. Just wanted to say, hope I see you around at school tomorrow.

"I c-can't Elena." she said and blocked Shawn's number.
Shawn's POV
I texted her a few times today. I'm that pathetic. No reply. I keep checking my phone and nothing. Why won't she let me in? Is she ignoring me? I'm so stupid and obviously blind. How did I ever think a girl as beautiful and perfect as her could like someone as emotionally scarred as me? I know she's breaking inside but what could someone broken do about it?
I don't even know her that well yet I feel like I've known her all my life. The way her ears go beet red when she's embarrassed, the way she acts like she doesn't care about what others think when she really does and the way she shuts people out as a self-defence mechanism. All these things, good and bad are driving me crazy. I don't deserve her, she's too good for me. If I ever got close to her I'd probably implode bringing her down with me. Maybe distance from her is for the best. After all, the further away she is from me the happier she'll be. Can't have a beautiful soul like her caught up in the aftermath of a broken boy shattering again.
Narrator
Rain slid down the sides of Shawn's Jeep as he opened the car door. He sat in the car seat, one of the only places in which he felt in control, and exhaled letting out a breath that he had no idea he was holding in in the first place. The only sound he heard was rain hammering against the roof of the Jeep. His wet and messy hair allowing crystalline rain drops to fall onto his leather jacket and his large coarse hands gripped the wheel tightly as if afraid to let go. Afraid to fall into oblivion. The corners of his lips turned down in sadness and his once shining hazel eyes seemed more of a dull grey.
He drove around with no particular destination in mind until he caught sight of a place where he knew he could grab a bite to eat. Stopping the car just outside Tim Hortons he walked in and was immediately enveloped by warmth, the smell of freshly baked goods came to greet him right by the door. He sat at a table in the corner where he knew he wouldn't be bothered and started to write.
