Laugh it up bitches

Today I woke up to a text about an emergency breakfast meeting with my girls. All it said was '911 BITCH'. Walking out of the bathroom after getting ready, I pause to watch Brice as he slept. How did I get so lucky and so unlucky at the same time? We spent almost every night together but hadn't established where we stood as a couple or as whatever we were. Taking in the slow, steady rise and fall of his chest I realize I promised to go with the flow when it came to us but I couldn't help but have questions I didn't know how to ask. Oh well time to go be there for my girls.

I arrive at breakfast just as they were ordering. I put my order in for eggs, toast, a fruit bowl, and orange juice, then wait for the convo to start.

"What's up with the emergency meeting?" I question after we bypass the small talk.

"There wasn't really an emergency we just missed you bitch!" Shay announced.

"Really?" I exasperate.

"Yes. You have been so caught up in you and Brice, we just missed you." She said.

"I show up every Friday for dinner so don't try and give me shit. It's not like I abandoned you guys" I defend myself.

"You show up every Friday with Brice so save it." Claire quips.

"Okay I get your point. I need to separate it all especially because I don't know where Brice and I stand." I confessed.

"Back up a sec!" Shay whisper-yells "You don't know what you guys are? You've been together for like months."

"I know right!" I say.

"Was he home when you left?" Claire chimes in.

"Yeah he's at my place now, why?" I say skeptically.

"Go back there and get an answer" Shay demands.

"But I promised him I'd see where this lead, you know, go with the flow." I explain.

Suddenly they both look at each other and bust out laughing. After letting it go on for a minute or two I speak up.

"Laugh it up whores" I angrily spew at them while they recover from their hysterics.

"Sorry, it's just....." Shay lets out "when have you ever gone with the flow OF ANYTHING!"

"You couldn't even wait for your math tests to be graded," Claire informs us.

"You always had to turn it in first so Mr. Sanchez would grade it right away and hand it right back." Shay giggles.

"Not helping, you guys." I inform them.

"Okay, but one question, why did you promise him the one thing that's so impossible for you to do?" Claire inquires.

"I don't know. Dear Lord baby Jesus, what did I get myself into?" I sigh.

"Maybe you should ask Brice that exact question" Shay finishes leaving me with something to think about.

As breakfast goes on we chat about Claire's new neighbor who she thinks is a hot biker. And Shay's ideas for this week's dinner (bologna sandwiches are her specialty), which Claire and I strongly encouraged against. When the food was gone and our day had to start we said our good byes and parted ways. I went to the grocery and liquor stores then made my way home. When I arrived home, I found a very shirtless Brice cooking in my kitchen. Oh God thank you for my perfect timing. The things I had going through my mind at just the sight of him.
