Resting his large hand on my thigh, Shawn and I continued to drive down the freeway to attend our dinner reservations. I turn my head to the left to see his sculpted face. Licking his lips, he glances at me, and perks up a small smirk.

As the sparkling lights of headlights passed us by, we arrived to the restaurant just before the rain could get to us. It might be San Diego, but it sure rains a hell of a lot.

Shawn and I make our way to the front of the building, Shawn giving me his jackets for the cold. With hand gripped around the door handle, he tries to open the door, but fails. Confused, he tries again, but fails once more.

We spot a worker walk past and we knock on the door in hopes of getting his attention. Turning his head towards us, he shrugs. "The place is closed 'cuz of the weather. Sorry guys."

I look towards Shawn with a disappointed look spread across my face. Today has been my first day off from work, stressful work, and the one time Shawn and I have time to spend with each other, the universe decides to have it out against me.

"You know what," Shawn starts, taking a deep breath and placing his hand on my hips,"we can work around this. Okay?"

"Yeah, but I just... the next restaurant is so far away, and I have to go to work tomorrow, so I can't stay up so late, and--"

"Hey, hey, it'll be okay. We can just go back home if you want." He placed a small kiss on my forehead to reassure me that everything will be okay.

"No, we planned this out and now this stupid rain ruined it. You put a lot of time into taking me here and I just don't want it to go to waste."

"Stop caring so much about me. We can just go home and relax. I want you to relax, okay?" He rubs the sides of my arms up and down. Smiling, I nod my head as we intertwine our hands and head back to the car.

"Why is it always so cold here?" I ask, wrapping his jacket even tighter around me.
Chuckling at my comment, we begin to head back.

"Here," Shawn handed me a glass of my favorite wine and quickly kissed my lips.

"I wish you drank wine, Shawn. We could have so much more fun." I take a sip of the divine alcohol. "Yeah, but I just don't think it tastes that good." He shrugs his shoulders, and brushes his hand in his curly brown hair.

"Are you relaxed?" He asks me.

"Yes, thanks." I respond, smiling.

"Good; tell me if you need anything, I'll be in the shower." He places a kiss on my cheek and heads towards the bathroom.

Staring down at my glass, I wonder why he puts up with me. I'm constantly busy and he's always just there to help me relieve my stress. Shawn has this way of always being there for someone. It always feels amazing to know that someone always has your back. I want him to feel the same reassuring feeling as well.

I walk into bedroom and lie in bed as I wait for Shawn to finish his shower. He deserves to be loved even more.

The bathroom door opens with Shawn slowly and languidly walking out. He seems a lot slower in movement than he usually is. I guess I didn't realize how tired he was before. Maybe it isn't just me who is drowning in work.

"Tired?" I asked, making his head turn. "Not for you." He replied with a witty smile. "Let's sleep, Babe." I held my arms out towards him so he could come to the bed. Yawning, he lies next to me and pulls the blankets over our bodies.

"Sorry for tonight." Shawn added, his arms now wrapped around my hips. "It's not your fault. I'm okay." I responded. He placed his right hand on my cheek and leaned in. I was close enough to him to feel his heart beat faster once our lips connected.

Writers block -_- for this book, should I post chapters from a new book I'm writing? It's better writing than this lol
