Vanessa dragged me away from Lukas and to the main area of camp. There's logs to sit on around a fire but all of those seats are taken up, so Vanessa and I stand behind the group. Looking around, I see some guy glaring at me. What did I do to him? What if he's like all the others at school? I can't deal with that. That's one of the reasons I came here. To get away from all of th-

"Are you okay?" I jump when I feel the hand on my shoulder. It's Vanessa who pulls me back to reality. Her face holds a concerned look so I smile and nod. We face forward where the camp director stands in front of everyone.

"Attention! Hello! Please be quiet! SHUT UP!" Okay then. Finally, everyone stopped talking and let the camp leader talk.

"Hello everyone. Welcome to Camp Brook, my name is Justin and I am the camp leader. Now, I know you all just want to get out of here and have fun but I have to lay down some ground rules.
1: Lights out at 10 pm.
2: Breakfast starts at eight. Be on time or no breakfast.
3: No cell phones. Cell service will be shut down for the summer.
4: No PDA.
5: No pranking, bullying, or inappropriate language or you will be punished.
Those are all the rules. Lunch is at 11:30 am everyday. You have today to explore the camp and tomorrow we start activities. Have fun!" Justin explained everything to us. I looked around trying to find the guy who was glaring at me but I couldn't find him. I guess Gabriella joined us during that little speech too.

Vanessa, Gabriella and I turned to walk away to go to the canteen to get lunch. The canteen was about 5 minutes away and it was already 11:25. We couldn't get far because the guy who was glaring at me stopped us, while still glaring at me. I froze, this situation is so similar to what happens at school.

"What do you want Derek?" Vanessa sighed. Looks like he's done this to her before.

"Who are the newbies?" Derek had an evil glint in his eye as he said this.

"That's none of your business." Vanessa snapped back at him. Derek's glare just hardened.

"You know what happens to your friends when you disrespect me, Vanessa." Vanessa's eyes screamed with fear but she still kept her protective stance.

"Who the hell are you to threaten my girlfriend?" Ty's voice boomed. Derek just smirked and glared at Ty.

"Why don't you ask your 'girlfriend'?" This really made Ty angry. Who was this guy? Apparently Vanessa and him have some type of history. Whatever happened was beyond me, obviously.

"Leave us alone." Vanessa's voice shook a little as she tried to steady it.

"For now, but watch your backs." Derek stalked off, leaving Gabriella and I shocked and Vanessa shaking. Lukas came over with a curious look on his face. Somehow Vanessa ended up in Ty's arms crying and seeing this made Lukas' gaze harden.

"What the hell happened? Why is Vanessa crying?" Lukas demanded.

"Derek." The venom in Ty's voice made me shrink back.

Lukas seemed really pissed off, but Gabriella and I were just straight up confused, and a little scared. Why did Vanessa react that way? I'll ask later, not today, but another time.

It took a few minutes but Vanessa eventually settled down. She looked okay, but she stayed attached to Try. We started walking toward the canteen. Hopefully we weren't too late and we could still get lunch. We got lucky because just as we got in line, they closed the line. It seemed like all they had was hamburgers, hotdogs and salad. I decided to get a salad and apple juice. We found a table that all five of us could fit at then sat and began dating. There was some chatter between Ty and Vanessa, then they turned to stare at Gabriella and I.

"So..." The two said at the same time. Gabriella and I shared a look.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Do either of you have a boyfriend?!" Ty wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. I gave him an odd look. Why does he care if we have boyfriends or not?

"Um, I don't have a boyfriend. But why do you care?" I questioned.

"Oh no reason, our friend Lukas here doesn't have a girlfriend." Ty wiggled his eyebrows and Vanessa smirked. Okay. Not creepy at all. Lukas glared at them while Gabriella and I blushed.

"I have to use the bathroom." I muttered, noticing I barely ate anything and got up to leave the table. I went to start walking and bumped into someone, again. Damn, I must be blind. I look up and see another male. What is wrong with me and walking into guys. I have to work on that.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." I apologized, hoping he doesn't get mad like Lukas and Derek. He looked nice. He was tall, about six feet tall, had blonde hair, brown eyes and light colored skin. Overall, he was hot.

"Don't worry about it, love. What's your name?" He had some type of accent, British I think.

"Uh, my name's Rylee. What is your name?"

"My name is Jace. You are very beautiful, Rylee." Oh damn. He's hot and nice?!

"Thank you very much. Do you mind showing me to the bathrooms? I'm new here."

"I'm new here too, love, but I guess we'll find them together."He grinned at me and I nodded. He walked off and I followed after him. I turned to look at Vanessa and Gabriella to find them grinning like they won the lottery. I rolled my eyes at them.

"So Rylee, what do you like?" Jace questioned.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, what's your favorite color, favorite band, hobbies, food and TV shows?"

"I'll answer but I expect the same from you."

"It's a deal." Jace grinned.

"My favorite color is mint green, I love The Summer Set, I like to read and I'm pretty artsy, my favorite food is nutella, and my favorite show is Shadowhunters. You?" I wasn't going to tell him anything else. Especially the fact that I liked sports.

"Well, color is red, Van Halen, I'm a fan of video games, I love pizza and I like Scorpion." He seemed interesting and has great taste in music.

"You like Van Halen?!" I squealed. He chuckled and nodded. We've been just walking around camp and I'm enjoying it. Jace is nicer than any other guy I've met. I liked it.

"Yeah, Van Halen's pretty good. But who the hell is 'The Summer Set'?" I gasped.

"You need a lesson. But I guess we'll do that later. Now, where's the bathroom? I questioned him. Don't think I didn't notice we've just been walking around.

He chuckled and looked down, the back up again. "I think we are going to be great friends. Let's go find the bathroom."

I grinned. I really hope we become good friends.
