Despite the harshness of their habitat, the earth dragon is the least restless of all known breeds. They are supremely well adapted for their desert homes with thick skin and large bodies to store water. The spikes on their back offer protection from predators, but honestly, what animal in its right mind would think to take on one of these massive beasts?

The earth dragon is basically just as common as the plant and fire dragons you've read about earlier. It also lives on only one island, the earth one. The earth island is made up of pure desert, with very little sand. Earth dragons mostly fit the term of gentle giants as well, with a kind disposition and giantlike appearance. It is brown and quite a few spikes, but there are no wings and it cannot fly. ( A/N: There is a picture of this dragon in Multimedia as a baby and in the back, shaded version as an adult. But if you type in 'DragonVale Earth Dragon' into your search engine you can see more pictures of this dragon. ) The earth dragon doesn't breath fire or plant life, but smoking boulders of large size.
