"I can't believe that! I missed Nick arguing with Loki!" I exclaimed to Thor. "I would've loved to see that."
"I bet you would have." Thor said chuckling. "You have never liked Loki very much."
"Well, seems I was right to. Turns out, he's evil."
"Loki means to unleash the Hulk, keep Banner in the lab. I'm on my way. Get Thor as well." Nat says through the earpiece.
"Well, time to go." I say to Thor. We split up on the walk to the lab. I meet up with Nick outside the door. We walk in.
"What are you doing Mr. Stark?" Nick asks. I decide to stay out of the conversation, because Nick looks very pissed off.
"Uh, kinda been wondering the same thing about you." Tony replies.
"You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract." Nick retorts.
"We are. The model's locked and we're stopping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have a location within half a mile." Bruce says while pointing at the technology being used to find the Tesseract.
"Yeah, then you get your cube back. No muss, no fuss. What is Phase 2?" Tony asks when a window that says Phase 2 pops up on a floating, clear computer screen. I look at Nick questioningly.
"Phase 2 is S.H.I.E.L.D. uses the cube to make weapons. Sorry, computer was moving a little slow for me." Steve angrily says after slamming a weapon, I'm assuming Phase 2, onto a table. I look at Nick, hurt that he would keep this from me.
"Rodgers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're making-" Fury says.
"I'm sorry, Nick." Tony interrupts while flipping the floating computer screen so we could read it. "What were you lying?"
"Nick?" I ask in a hurt tone.
"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit." Steve says while Thor and Nat walk in.
"Did you know about this?" Bruce asks Nat and I.
"No." I reply sadly.
"You want to think about removing yourself from this environment, Doctor?" Nat says at the same time.
"I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed." Bruce replies while laughing emotionlessly.
"Loki is manipulating you." Nat persists.
"And you've been doing what, exactly?" He retorts.
"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you." She says.
"Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why S.H.I.E.L.D. it's using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction." Bruce says while pointing to the Phase 2 file.
"Because of him." Nick says pointing accusingly at Thor. I quickly step in front of Thor.
"Me?" Thor questions while pointing at himself.
"Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned." Nick accuses. I look at Nick with hurt and betrayal in my eyes.
"My people want nothing but with your planet." Thor defends.
"But your not the only people out there, are you? And you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, that can't be controlled." Nick asks rhetorically.
