“I’m going to punch him in the face! And then in the gut. Repeatedly!” Val exclaimed as Julia retold the story.
“Yeah! Fuck him. He’s just a little...Fucker!” Rachel joined in.
“Guys, that’s just how it is. I should’ve seen it coming. I guess I can just find another guy, right?” Julia replied, although she knew she wanted Adam and only Adam.
“No!” Val said, “This has to work. It’s supposed to be like The Notebook!”
“I think we should just cut his balls off.” Rachel suggested.
“Someones bitter and single...” Val replied jokingly. They all laughed. Julia had been trying to think of a new rebound, but no luck. Rachel interrupted her thought.
“Ooo, what about Cody? You know, Dan’s brother?”
“The borderline gay one with the bad nose hair?” Val replied in disgust. “Come on Rach, you’re slightly a whore. Isn’t there someone else you can think of other than Cody?”
“Well, Michael has a huge dick, but he kind of has a foot fetish and only goes for Asians.” Rachel explained. Val & Julia gave her a skeptical look. “What? We were at a party, there was alcohol involved and he apparently thought I was Asian; So I said ‘Eh, what the hell?’.” The girls looked at her again. “Don’t judge me!”
“Oh, we are past the point of judging you, honey.” Val said; They all giggled. “Oh Jules, don’t stress too much. He’ll come back, or you’ll find somebody better!”
“Yeah, I had my money on a black guy anyway.” Rachel stated bluntly.
“You two are nuts.” Julia rolled her eyes.
“But that’s why you love us!” the girls replied in sync.
“Obviously.” Julia’s phone rang. “Oh, god it’s Adam.”
“Answer it! Answer it!” Val encouraged. Before she could, Rachel snatched the phone and answered it herself.
“Fuck off!” she screamed.
“Rach!” Julia exclaimed, horrified. She took back her phone & double-clicked the call button. As the phone rang, her heart began to beat faster and faster.
“Hey.” He answered.
“Sorry, that was Rachel.” she glared. “What’s up?” she asked. Val & Rachel tried hopelessly to hear the conversation.
“I was hoping maybe we could talk about what happened Friday?” He asked, with a high amount of hope in his voice.
“What is there to talk about, exactly, Adam?” she asked with her with her guard up.
“Well.. I mean..I need to explain myself..You know. What I said.”
“I’m kind of busy, Adam.” she said coldly.
“Can I please take you out for coffee?” he asked. This time Val grabbed her phone.
“She’d love to. See you in ten.” she replied for her friend and then hung up.
“Val!” Julia exclaimed.
“What the hell?! He’s the enemy!” Rachel said, disapprovingly.
“Oh calm down, Rach. I have this all worked out. Soon, it’ll be like John Hughes is directing her life and everything will be perfectly fine.” Val said joyfully.
“I can’t believe you said yes!” Julia said frustratedly, looking at herself in the hall mirror. “Look at my face! What am I going to wear?”
