Nicki
I was up bright and early the next morning. Not voluntarily, of course, but because Drake wanted to get started on our job quest before noon. The nigga knows I ain't a morning person, so he better be ready to put up with my bitchy attitude for the rest of the day.
After I got outta bed, I made myself a simple breakfast; cereal.
As I ate, I wondered where SB was. He wasn't there when I woke up. Nigga better be finding a job or summin. I picked up my phone and dialed his number. It went straight to voicemail. I rolled my eyes and hung up. Whateverrrr.
When I got done eating, I put my bowl in the dishwasher and went up to my room to pick out some clothes for today. I pulled down some skinny jeans and a black "Whatever" shirt I got online. The "Whatever" printed on it was printed in silver sparkles. It was tighter than I expected it to be when I finally got it in the mail. I tried to return it, but I was too lazy to go through the "refund process" so I just let it be. To match my outfit I put on some black Keds and some silver dangly earrings, to match the "Whatever" on my shirt. I also put on a couple rings just 'cuz I could.
I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and mess with my hair and makeup. I decided to straighten my hair again today, and proceeded with my basic makeup routine; black mascara, black eyeliner, pink lipstick, and foundation.
I sprayed on some perfume for a final touch, and I was ready.
I decided to text Drake and see where he was at.
Me - Hey Aub, where you at? I'm ready.
He responded about five minutes later.
Drake - Nic I'm ferreal. Don't call me by my first name, k?
Me - Whatever. So, where you at?
Drake - I'm coming to pick you up right now. You ready to go?
Me - Yeah.
Drake - Awesome. I'll be there in like, two minutes.
And, true to his word, he was. We got in his truck and got on the road.
"So, where you wanna try next?" Drake asked, as he swerved into the right lane.
"I don't even know anymore, Drake. You decide," I whined.
I was seriously DONE. I couldn't think of anywhere to work, even though there were tons of places to work around here.
He scoffed. "Come on, Nic. I can't decide where you work."
I sighed. He was right. He COULDN'T decide where I wanted to work. I was the only one who could do that. Blehhhh.
He was silent for a few seconds, then gasped. "Nic! You could work at StarBucks with me!" he exclaimed.
All I could do was look at him. Was he ferreal?
"You're kidding, right?" I ask with a straight face. "You want me to work with you? At StarBucks? That's a white girl job."
He shrugged and looked up at me. "Nah, Nic, it'll be fun! You'll love it, I promise. It pays pretty well too," he confirmed.
I crossed my arms. Ok. Maybe I was being too negative. I mean, what do I have to loose? I'll have Drake to help me out if I don't understand something, so I wouldn't need to worry about doing anything wrong. Plus you get free coffee. You'd be stupid to turn free coffee from StarBucks down. Yes, maybe it was a white girl job, but it couldn't be that bad. Right?
I sighed. "Alright Drake," I said, "I'll go audition for the stupid job."
He smiled and whispered a "Yes!" under his breath. I rolled my eyes. He better know what he's talkin' bout.
