THE long ride from California to Washington was the most dreadful rides I've ever taken before in my life, I hated to be away from home to mention I was 15 hours away from home I couldn't just run back when I wanted to I guess I was a big ass baby you could say.

I keep tears from falling from my eyes most of the ride but soon I let them fall, I just couldn't see why my parents wanted to ship me off to an 15 hour college away from home ,I mean it wasn't my top pick out of the 15 colleges that I got accepted to my passion was to attend Spelman but my parents make a big deal out of nothing so they thought me attending Howard would be best since both of them are Alumni there.

" Okay baby girl we are here" My dad shouted while parking the car making me awake from my nap that was just getting good. I looked out the window to see the campus was beautiful and I can't forget how lit the music was that blasted through the Dj's Turn table but I couldn't grasp to the fact that would be gone from home till Holidays and Spring break came along.

"Aww look at my baby girl seems like the other I was just bringing you home"

" Okay mom no bitter sweet stories before you make me and dad cry" I said giggling grabbing my supply box walking toward the dormitory before I was stopped by mom, once again.

"Heather, Sweetheart stand in front of that sign so mama can get a pic of her big girl before we leave"

I pretend to smile and keep from rolling, I didn't wanna be here for one and pretend to be happy was something I couldn't stand doing.

" Okay Sweetie remember the way you left I-"

" Is the way you want me to come back home, Don't do Sex, Drugs and always come straight back to the dorm do not attend no parties Yeah dad I know" I said leaning against the car waiting for anything else they was gonna say.

" What you waiting for go ahead go explore"

" Remember to call us everyday" My parents screamed from behind causing me to giggle a little.

"I will every chance I will get" I said to myself before entering my Dorm
