Veronica yawned, "Mommy! Come in here and turn off my alarm!"

"No." Her mother answered, her voice muffled by the multiple walls separating them.

"Where's  my maid!" Veronica screeched, "It's her job to do stuff like this!"

"She's preparing breakfast since the chef is grocery shopping." She answered with obvious exhaustion in her voice.

"Why am I treated like such a slave?" Veronica groaned, she spoke quietly enough that she was sure her mother didn't hear her.

Her mother didn't say anything else so Veronica lay in bed and waited for her alarm clock to stop beeping.

"Miss Veronica! Are you ready for me to drive you to school?" A voice hollered from downstairs.

Veronica had been staring at the ceiling, thinking. Going over everything that had happened since she had moved, every moment until now.

She recognized the voice as Jeeves, her personal chauffeur.

Veronica looked at the alarm clock, and gasped. It was 7:15, and she was supposed to arrive a half an hour early for school so Principal Weatherbee could give a speech to the new students. She only had fifteen minutes to eat, get dressed and get to school.

"Just a minute Jeeves!!"

She slipped on the first shirt and pants she saw in her closet.

There was no time to shower so on the way downstairs she grabbed the elastic she had slipped onto her wrist and pulled her hair into a ponytail.

So much for making a good first impression she thought, looking down at her striped tee shirt and checkered leggings.

Ugh, it looks awful.

On the dining table was a basket of muffins, it wasn't the most healthy choice but she picked one up and ran outside anyway.

"I'm ready!" Veronica shouted and jumped into the limo. Jeeves was waiting in the car.

"Um, Miss Veronica...With all due respect, did you forget to get shoes or is this some kind of new fad?"

Veronica looked down at her pink cat slippers.

"There's no time for me to go inside, I have my running shoes in my backpack. I'll have to wear those." Veronica sighed.

"What backpack, Miss Veronica?"

Veronica groaned.

"Hey Betty." Jughead sat down next to her and sighed.

"What's up?" Betty said, while she brushed her hair.

"Long story, what I'd like to know is why you're brushing your hair? Didn't you have time to do it at home?"

"Obviously not, Jughead." she scowled.

"Wow, who rained on your parade?" Jughead laughed.

"I'm glad I amuse you."

Jughead stared at the stage. "When do you think Mr Weatherbee will come on stage? It's almost 7:40. I'll bet all the late kids will be happy that he's not here yet."

"Will you shut up and leave me alone, Jughead?"

Jughead looked past her and smiled, "One last thing Betty. Have you confessed your love to Archie yet?"

"You know I haven't told h-"

"Hey Betty, hey Jug." Archie sat down on Betty's left.

Betty looked at Jughead and gasped, "Did he hear?" she whispered.
