Prologue: Here I am.

Deejay...

"My client was not in the right mind and was not of sound mind...He was drugged and aas manipulated into killing Mister Foster. His family should be trying to throw the one who was capable of turning this man to kill him. Jody here worked with the Foster family for over 35 years as a gardener and seen and witnessed the abuse that Mister Foster did to his youngest son Andy. The family did aswell, but didnt come foward. Andy finally got sick of it and drugged my client and manipulated him into killing his father for revenge. Your Honor, do not let this man go to prison for something he was tricked into doing. All the evidence is before you and have been explained and examined." Judge Manich took off her glasses and exhaled, "Mr.Cartina the fact still remains that your client killed Mister Foster. Andy has an alibi that has checked out. Im sorry, but I cannot further this trial any longer. If they are no more evi--" The doors to the court room flew open like a large gust of wind came in somehow. Running down the aisle was my partner, my right hand man, and lifesaver, Holden. He handed me over a file of papers and exhaled before whispering in my ear the facts that was about to bust this case wide open and give us just one more month to clear my clients name. I cleared my throat and said, "Your honor, another credible piece of evidence was just brought to my attention." I grabbed the folder and stated, "Andy alibi was that he was out with his baby sister at Crusio's restaurant enjoying a Melted Brownie with Ice Cream over it. The night in question was August 23. However, the melted brown with Ice cream wasnt added to their menu untl early September." Judge Manich waved me over and Prosecutor Raymond Boyd. I walked over and handed her the folder. She opened it and I continued as she read over the menu in front of her.

"If they are lying about that, that alibi can be false which means--" She cut me off and spoke, "I am siding with you guys. Prosecutor Raymond you may wanna tell the Foster family they should want to get there son a lawyer." As he ruled for the trial to be next month on December 9th. I smiled and hugged Jody. He exhaled as we walked out and I said, "Now we havent won just yet, but once I prepare for this trial I can almost think no jury will see you as the killer." After talking to a few interviewers I met Holden by my car in the parking lot. I hugged him and he said, "I told you that was new. I just knew it. I was like how the hell did he have that in August."

"You came thru. I owe you, big time." I told him as I walked around the hood of my car and he followed and said, "Well its funny you mentioned that." I turned around and faced him and he continued, "I may wanna cash in that favor now." I chuckled, "What do you want with my life Holden?" Holden and I have forged one of the greatest friendships I have ever had. We are ranked the number 2 Law Firm in the state of New York.

"Well, I kind of searched up and seen that your foster license was recently renewed."

"Holden, Rico and I are done having children. And we only renewed it in case of wanting to foster a kid out of the goodness of our heart. Darius is 7 now going on 8 in Janurary. I am over children." I told him before asking, "What was you searching that up for anyways?"

"Well, see I have this client. He is 17. Rough life growing up in Harlem. Addict for a mother. Deadbeat father.  two siblings. He was caught selling weed to a undercover cop and had  a gun on him. The judge is trying to charge him as an adult. And I have 3 months to prove that he has changed and I can most likely just give him house arrest. So I was wondering can you Foster him for these 3 months and get him back into school."

"Holden, I have had my fair share of experience with men like this and--"

"No offense thats why I am asking. Look a Loso boy is a star player for the New York Jets now. And your husband is now Coaching Football at a High School. All I am asking is give him a trial run. If he fucks up ill throw him in a group home." He did have a point, but me just bringing this boy to our home will spark some shit, no doubt. Dream just turned 16 and running us crazy. O.J is 14 and running us to the school every week. Olyver is 12, and is my precious boy. Rimah 10 and acts 20. And Darius is about to be 8. I just have no room
for someone else's problem. However, my heart is to big to tell this man no right now. I know off hand that people can change and besides its 3 months what is the worse that can happen.
