"Hurry up!" My roommate yelled at me, pulling towards our car. She ducked between people, cutting them off as she went.

"Why?" I was trying to be more polite, saying excuse me as I passed.

"You only have an hour to get ready," She answered as she dodged a large group of students.

"Can't I just wear what I have on?"

She stopped dead in her tracks, turning abruptly to stare at me, as his I had just ruined her favorite pair of shoes. "Absolutely not. I will not have you going on a date with Niall Horan in an old t-shirt and ratty jeans. You know that thing called makeup, yeah you are putting some on. And you have great boobs but you never show them off, well that's going to change."

"He's used to me in sweats so anything other than that is an improvement."

"I don't care, this is a proper date and you will dress like it." She almost had us running through the parking lot.

"How do you know it's a proper date? Maybe we'll just end up get food somewhere on campus and talking."

"Now days if a guy says a date, it's a date. If he was just looking for food, he'd ask to hang out. Now hurry up."

She drove entirely to fast on the way home, surprised we didn't get a ticket. And once we were home she was pulling out of the car and into the apartment.

"There done." She finally said and I was grateful. "And with three minutes to spare." I stared back at her. "What, you look amazing."

"I can't believe I let you do this."

"This is the first real date you've had since I've know you. It's not even that much, just enhancing what you already have." Just then the doorbell rang. "He's here!" She squealed. She ran off to open the door while I collected my things.

He was standing in the entryway talking when I entered. He wasn't wearing his typical frat boy outfit. No, now he was in a nice button up shirt, well fit jeans and Chelsea boots. And on top of his head was a hat but not the normal snapback, now it was a paddy hat. He smiled when he saw me.

"You look nice." I blushed at his complement, looking at my feet trying to hide my embarrassment.

"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself."

"Should we get going?" I nodded.

Slipping into my jacket, he opened the door. "You two crazy kids have fun now." I heard my roommate yell just before the door clicked behind us.

His hand pressed into my lower back, causing my breath to catch in my throat. He led the way to his waiting car. Before helping me in, he opened the door for me.

"I'm glad you agreed to come out with me," he mentioned as he started the vehicle.

"You were the one that had to work hard for that grade. I'm really proud of how hard you worked." Even in the dim light I could see he was blushing.

He didn't tell me where he was taking us but it wasn't long before he stopped the car. "Where are we?"

"We are at a pumpkin patch petal." At first I had hated when he called me petal, but now I knew it is a term of endearment, and I quite enjoy when he calls me it. "Thought we could pick out a couple and then maybe if you would like we could get together again sometime and we could crave them." He rubbed his hand over the back of his neck, clearly nervous about mention a possible second date that wasn't because of a bet.

"I would like that."

We began to walk around, weaving our way through the many pumpkins. Kids ran around us trying to find the perfect pumpkin, begging their parents to get the biggest they could find. For one reason or another, we couldn't find one that right.
