As the week went by Jane continued to work at the diner, but he also went about getting his classes in order whenever he had a day off or half shift. It had taken him a few days to figure out which classes he wanted, or even what major he should try for. But it wasn't easy since he had no clue what the hell he wanted to do.

With a big sigh, Jane sat at a table in the cafe looking over all his choices, ranging from basic courses just to have a degree in liberal arts to more advanced degrees just short of doctors. He continued scouring his pamphlets and brochure before he pushed them away in frustration.

"Why is this so hard?" He asked more himself then anyone else around him, sitting back, he ran a paw through his fur before standing up and taking his empty cup to the counter, "Lilly, can I get another herbal tea, no sugar this time."

"How can you drink that leaf water without sugar, it just doesn't taste good at all." She said while taking his cup and preparing the tea how he liked it.

"I could ask the same to why you drink that dirt water you love so much," Jane replied while eyeballing her own cup of steaming coffee next to a half eaten raspberry tart, "and does Kyle know you eat the pastries while on the clock?" He asked with a chuckle before snagging the remains and eating it.

Lilly let out a hiss as she came to him with his cup, "Dammit Jane, that was the last raspberry," she let out a growl before setting his cup down, "I had to keep it hidden when other customers asked for it." He just gives a smile before taking his tea and going back to his seat, looking down at the university papers again.

While he continued looking through his papers, trying to figure out his choices, a tall canine walks in to the counter, his fur a deep blue except his crest around his eyes which was golden yellow with a hint of green when it met the blue fur. He ordered a green tea lemonade before noticing Jane and all the college papers. "New student?," He asked as he walked toward Jane's table with his drink, "I'm guessing you have no clue on what major you want to do, right?"

Jane's ears lower in form of a blush and nods, "Y-yeah, I just recently got accepted and I have no clue what I want to do," He admitted as he collected the papers, making room for the fur, "My name is Jane." Jane gestures for the blue fur to sit across from him, whom nods and sits in the seat across from him.

As the man sits in the chair, he smiles with a chuckle, "Names Kyne, and I am a senior at the college, majoring in psychology and social behavior," he eyed over Jane's appearance and his smile got even bigger as he sips his own tea, "which helps getting to know furs easier because I can pick up on body language and other cues that tell me more then words alone can ever explain." He let out a louder chuckle as Jane blushed and looked away, as if even simple eye contact will give away all his secrets.

"I think I'll stick with things I'm good with, people aren't a good subject for me," Jane muttered as he ran his fingers through is tail fur, "most of the time I avoid crowds and people as it makes life easier."

"Because you're gay?" Kyne asked rather bluntly, giving Jane a serious look, "or is it also because your past is filled with pain at the hands of others that its easier to run away then face the problems head on?"

Jane looked at him with a look of hurt and disbelief that this fur could have read his emotions and body language so easily without so much as a few mutter words and visual avoidance. "I...how?" he stared at him with his muzzle hanging open a little, "No one knows about my past, or even that I'm gay, except maybe Lilly. Wait, did she tell you?!" he became very mortified at the thought his one and only close friend might have betrayed him.

Kyne just shook his head and waved his paw, "No one had to tell me Jane, I told you I'm majoring in psychology and social behavior, by the way you are dressed, how you carry yourself, plus the rainbow earrings, told me you are into the same sex," he explained calmly, trying not to cause the young man anymore problems, "as for the pain from your past, your demeanor when the subject was brought up showed me you aren't fond of many people, and the look in those azure eyes of yours told me more than I think you will ever be able to tell somebody else."

All Jane could do was stare at the older canine, unsure if he should slap him or hug him, but before he can react, he felt something tap his hand. Upon looking at his hand he noticed the piece of paper resting in his open palm, a number scribbled on it with Kyne written in a rather unique way before the canine simply nods and gets up, leaving the speechless fur alone at the table as he headed out the door.

"What was that about Jane?" Lilly came by his table, cleaning up the tea cup left where it was and looked from Jane to the door then to the number, "He gave you his number? Way to go hun." She smiled big as she patted his back, which became him hugging her tightly and crying into her shoulder as he clutched the number tightly.

Outside the cafe, Kyne stood at the curb and scrolled through his phone as he waited for the walk signal, stopping on a contact with a picture of a male otter in a rather provocative pose and hitting the dial button. As his phone rang, he stepped into the street and headed to the campus dorms, and with a small voice answering the call, Kyne gives a big toothy grin, "Hello Wesley, we are going to have a new play toy, make sure you have the playroom ready when I message you."
