Within-based on beauty and the beast

Prologue:

The castle touched the sky as if it was never ending.  A monster lived in there!! A terrible thing.  No heart just emptiness and want.  Who could love a hideous beast??

Chapter 1: first sight

The crowd grew bigger, crowding around to see a bullet soar through the sky.  All were amazed at how it hit an innocent bird (like someone’s never done that before.)  It sickened me how people wasted their lives gazing at a prince of nothing.  I walked away from the group of shame.  Everybody in town was there to see the silly prince get spoiled daily.  I wanted to get out of this place so bad because everyone acts like my dad’s a joke.  He isn’t crazy he just has insane thoughts, but he is my dad and I felt I needed to protect him.  I tried to walk as fast as I could, instead I found myself stuck in a pile of mud.  I struggled to get out leading me to fall on my face.  I made a grunt loud enough to make the crowd turn to see the cause of my frustration.  I stood back up still fighting the wet dirt as the crowd formed two straight lines, creating a path.  The big headed jerk was coming my way with a disgusted look from his forehead to his chin.  I was curious what the big deal was.  “Sniff”, just making sure I didn’t smell.  I finally realized I was covered in brown gushy goo.

“What is wrong with you?” he questioned me with a tone of ridicule.

Two men came from the group of people to help me up. I thanked the men but ignored the prince. The irritated prince waiting for an answer.  Like my job in life was to satisfy him.  I walked past him pushing him out of the way.  I started to head home, but he immediately followed.  After 10 minutes it was starting to get creepy and people were still staring at me!!  I’d stopped to see if he would pass, but he remained there. He finally spoke up.

“How come you’re so ignorant?  I’m a son of royalty and I deserve more attention!!”

I sighed thinking about what I should I say.  Should I acknowledge him or should I just walk away?  How could he call me ignorant?  Unbelievable!  He was a terrible person, but lucky for him his perfect English accent had an advantage.

“You want to know why?” I asked, “You are so self-centered, arrogant, a royal pain in the butt who controls his own personal ego factory!!”

His jaw dropped down and his eyes were wide.  The crowd was equally shocked as well.  I figured this conversation had been over by the awkward silence filling the air.  I flinched as a hand on my shoulder turned me around.

“What?” he looked so hurt by the words I said.  I didn’t mean to say them, but they blurted out.  I felt so guilty, but it’s not like they weren’t true.  I think I went just a little over board though.  He asked his question and I gave him his answer.  My mouth opened to give a piece of my mind, before I could “boom”!!  A machine gun shot through the sky.  The shooting stopped for a split second for both of us to realize that the prince and I were on the grown protecting ourselves. We looked up and saw we were the only ones in sight. “Run!” was the only word I could make out. We got up and ran for our lives. I stopped as I reached my house.

“Are you crazy? We can’t stop here or they’ll find us!” He asked exasperated. I rolled my eyes at him. Why me?

I knocked on the door twice, waiting. Finally I went to the backyard. He looked confused but followed without complaint. I dropped to the ground, motioning him to do the same. I grabbed each rock until I heard a clicking noise, when I found the right one. A garden gnome flipped up to reveal a giant hole. I stood up and went down the hole while he just sat there. My head popped back up to look at him.

“Do you want to die?” I asked plainly.

Shaking his head, he followed me down the hole to find a tunnel. We walked down to the end. I found my dad in there making an emergency pack. He looked like James Bond with his slicked back hair and shades.

“We have a guest today.” I explained when my dad looked at me expectantly.

The Prince practically screamed, “What is going on? This shouldn’t be happening! I shouldn’t be underground with the rats and bugs when Im royalty!”

The Prince was furious after he realized he was with poor crazy citizens.  I "You think it's all about you? This just proves my point from earlier." I busted out laughing so hard at his little tantrum.  I turned away from him and faced dad as he was focused on something out the underground window.  It was more like a small hole with a piece of plastic covering it!! My dad had combed white hair.  His eyes were a brilliant green and his smile made me feel like the happiest girl alive. The smile I cherished left his face.  "Isn't that the king's advisor with a gun?!"  The old man asked.

The prince cooled down a bit to look out for the man and nodded in unbelief.  He slid down the wall to the ground.  You could see the betrayal in his eyes.  I felt kind of sorry for him, but then I shook that out of my head as I realized who I was thinking about.

"Welcome to real life Prince Charming, this is no fairy tale." I stated calmly, looking at him.  His eyes met mine,  "Well since I’m obviously am going to be with you guys for a while can I at least know your name?" He suggested trying to calm down.  I bent down to pack some clothes and sighed at the thought.

"Trina.  Trina Rose." I chuckled. His hand flipped up ready to shake.  My hand slide into his as our fingers touched barely.  "Samuel." He continued.  "Call me Sam though."
