AN)Sorry for the lack of updates, my personal life has been very hectic so i havent been able to write.
Im really sorry to anyone who has been waiting for a really long time, but Ive been really stressed and im making a webcomic, I got kicked out, had to move, and even more.
Im really sorry this isnt very long, but I had to write all of this tonight so it a little shorter than usual.
Anyway, back to the story.

I walked through the leaves, feeling wind blowing against my body as I watched the trees with fearful caution. I held onto the strange girl’s legs as I walked forward, kneeling to avoid branches hitting us.

I kept a steady pace as I watched the shadows from the corners of my eyes. I felt a shiver pass through my body as A strong, cold, gust of wind past through, covering my body in goose bumps. I kicked a few branches aside as I continued up the hill, which seemed to be the correct way. I felt my blood beginning to soak through my clothes, making my body even colder. I stayed quiet, continuing our journey up the hill when the girl on my back began to speak. “(YN), let me go.” I stopped on the steep slope and held onto a tree, looking over my shoulder to the girl.

I slowly let her off my back when she continued, “I think I figured out what happened to me.” She said as I set her down on the ground. “Sometimes, a spirit can be forced out of the spirit realm, or can accidentally get pulled out, when that happens the spirit will possess the closest being .” I nodded in response, “I think when I pushed you out of the spirit realm, you ended up pulling me out and that's how I gained a physical form.” She said as I spoke up.

“So you’ve possessed a little girl's body?” I asked as She began to speak again. “I believe so, but something is really wrong with this body; I’ve been trying to contact the spirit in this body, but I can’t find one.” She said as she put her hand to her chest. “And she doesn’t have a heartbeat.”

I felt my eyes widen in surprise as I heard her say this.

“You're saying she’s dead?” I asked kneeling down to her height. “Yeah, I can operate the body and all of it systems, but if I stop her spirit doesn’t take control.”

“Well,” I said quietly only to be caught off by an all too familiar voice, “(YN)! Where are you!” I heard Toby’s voice yell. I saw Ghost Girls mouth open only for me to immediately put my hand over her mouth, “Stay quiet…” I whispered to her and I continued to listen to the voice.

Its pitch was the exact same as Toby’s, with the same tone, but it sounded Wrong.

Like seeing a shadow as the end your bed, you know it's probably just your pet, but you are still scared to turn on the light.

You have a feeling in your gut saying it's a threat, but for those of you idiotic enough to turn on the light, you just find a pet.

Or you find a strange doglike creature with long razor sharp claws that rips you to ribbons and feasts upon your flesh.

Anyway

I stayed quiet, listening to the voice repeat itself when suddenly it hit me.

I felt my blood go cold.

Suddenly A tall familiar brunette walked through the bushes his face lit up with joy as soon as he say us.

“(YN)!” He said as he took a step forward only for me to go into a defensive stance, pushing the small girl behind me.

“Stay Back” I growled as the boy looked at me confused, “(YN)? Its me, Toby!” He said as he took a step forward.

“I said stay Back!” I yelled as he stopped in his tracks.

“(YN), What’s wrong? Are You OK?” The Boy said as I stepped back, “You aren’t Toby.” I hissed as his face scrunched in confusion.

“What?” He Said, scrunching up his eyebrows just as Toby did when he was confused.

“You aren’t Toby, You’re A good dollanganger; I’ll give you that.” I spat as my hand went to my waistband for my gun, only for it to be gone.

‘Damnit! I must have dropped it during the fight with that thing.’ I thought as I reached into my back pocket, feeling a small pocket knife.

I pulled it out of my pocket and kept it hidden and flicked it open

“You must have hit your head when The Rake attacked you, c’mon, let head back home and patch you up.” He said as I smirked.

“Sure,” I said relaxing my pose, sending a look of relief through his face.

“But riddle me this Toby”

I said glaring at him,

“Where did your stutter go?” I asked in a sickly sweet voice. I could see the doppelganger’s face Let out a big smile, “Well, oopsies.” It said as its grin grew even wider.

“I guess you caught me.”

And with those words, the beast within was freed.

The doppelganger's Skin burst, making the child scream as his spine suddenly burst from the skin. His face grew into a snout with no fur. His hands burst out long claws with blood all across them.

His hair disapeared along with all of his clothes, but his skin turned even paler than Toby’s

I saw the beast who attacked me, it still towered over me.

It let out a hyena-like laugh as my heartbeat went even faster. I felt my hands becoming clammy as I let out a quiet whisper, “That escalated quickly.”

Suddenly the knife in my hand seemed even less threatening than before, I might as well have brought a toothpick. At least then, the monster can use it after he eats me.

I wrapped my hand around the little girl’s, getting ready to run.

I could feel my heartbeat in my ears as the creature began to walk forward, I couldn’t get my legs to move. Suddenly I felt all strength return just as the monster got with in arms reach.

I swung my knife, slashing the beast across the face as it let out a howl of pain. My knife cut it eyes.

I immediatly began to run up the hill, carrying the small girl behind me. Not to far behind, I could hear the monster try to follow us only to keep hitting trees.

I could see to cabin up ahead as we got to the top of the hill. I kept running, holding tight onto the girl as I ran up the steps and threw the door open.

As soon as I opened the door I could see an all to familiar face filled with worry.

“(Y-YN)! I w-was so worried!” Toby said as he ran over and hugged me.

“Toby we need to move.” I said, barely being able to hold myself up due to exhastion.

“W-Whoa Woah, what going on?” He asked trying to calm me down only for me to repeat myself.

“Toby, we need to get out of here!” I yelled as I forced myself out of his arms.

“(YN), W-Whats g-going on?” Toby asked when he noticed the little girl, “and w-who’s she?” Toby asked pointing to the child who scoffed at him.

“I’ll explain later, we need to get movin-” I felt my body weigh itself down as suddenly I hit the ground and my eye closed shut.

I could hear yelling and then

Silence.
