Avery POV
“I. can’t. breathe.” I managed to gasp through Megan’s death grip around my whole body. She released me as I gasped for air. We were at the airport now dropping Megan at her terminal. Then me and Kenzi would be on the next plane to London, England.
“It’s just this is the last time I will see you guys for a whole entire year!” Megan exclaimed releasing Kenzi from a massive hug. For such a small girl she certainly had a tight grip. “I don’t know what I will do without you two here”
“Don’t worry babe we are going to have loads of Skype dates and we can always text it’ll be fine” I said trying to calm her down she looked to be on the brink of tears.
“I just wish I could come with you two I am so jealous, if only--”
“Last call for flight 236 to Denver, Colorado” We heard a woman's voice echoing around us.
“You better go Meg, we will call you the moment we land promise” Kenzi said reaching out her pinkie. We always made pinkie promises to each other because they were unbreakable to us. Megan wraped her little finger around Kenzi’s before engulfing us both in one last hug
“I will miss you guys so much, have fun I love you” Megan said as she released us and walked toward the entrance to the long hallway leading to her plane.
“Love You!!” Me and Kenzi both called after her waving. She turned around giving us one of those huge awkward wide eyed smiles. Man, I was going to miss that girl.
“TO ENGLAND!” I said pointing to the walking sidewalk that would take us to our terminal. Kenzi just laughed and followed after me. We sat down at our terminal waiting until we could get on the plane. We talked about everything we missed. Everything even the stupidest little things that most people wouldn’t usually tell each other, but that’s just how our relationship was. I told her about the lucky penny I found the other day and how it was a sign that this year was going to be lucky, she told me how she stubbed her toe and it hurt to dance for three days. We went on for what seemed like hours and there was never a dull second. We could talk about the big things, the little things, everything, and nothing and things never got awkward. I swear if I didn’t know better I would say this girl was my soul mate. We were just different enough to not get on each others nerves but similar enough to have so much in common. She was the only person outside of my family that knew everything about me. About how messed up my parents divorce made me, about how I hated commitment and relationships, that I am afraid of the dark, my elephant collection everything. The best part of it was that she never judged me and she never left and that meant the world to me.
“All passengers with first-class tickets may now board flight 582 to London, England.” The familiar woman's voice rang around the terminal. Kenzi’s parents had been generous to bump us up to first-class for the plane ride, they thought we should be comfortable for the seven hour flight, and who was I to disagree. We handed the lady our tickets and skipped down the hallway hand in hand to the air plane.
“Oh my God I cannot believe this it is all so real now we are going to London freaking England Avery!” Kenzi said squeezing my hand as we stepped onto the plane.
“I know it is so crazy I am so excited this is going to be so amazing!!” I gushed as the flight attendant who was already clearly annoyed led us to our seats. “Wait are we not sitting together?” I turned to Kenzi, we were technically still next to each other but there was an isle between us and empty seats next to both of ours, of course we were the first ones on the plane.
“I guess not oh, well we can still talk it’ll be fine” Kenzi reassured me.
“Yeah your right”I said as we took our seats.
