Karma's POV
Karma frowned as he looked out the window of his black Cadillac at the reporters talking into cameras. He didn't expect such a commotion this early. He hoped that they could get to the office before they started to show up. Sensing Karma's distress, Naomi, his secretary, looked over at him in the back seat through the review mirror.
"Don't worry, Karma-kun, once we get inside they won't be able to follow" She tried to reassure him which didn't help much. Karma rested against the door as he watched the commotion outside the company.
'How did it come to this?' Karma wandered as he thought back to when he first joined the company. Next thing he knew, he was president of the CIO Company and people trying to assassinate him every other month became part of his life. If it wasn't the fact that he was trained to be an assassin in class E-3 then he surely would be dead now. The red-head then thought of his classmates, who he hadn't contacted in a while. He wandered what they were all up to. How was their life?
Before he could ponder any more, the car pulled into the giant parking lot and the reporters started surrounding the car with their microphones and cameras. The police rushed over and tried to push them away but was failing. Naomi turned to him after turning off the car.
"Are you ready?" She asked him. He only nodded before they both got out of the car. Karma always hated the paparazzi and always would. He pushed through the crowd of reporters and quickly walked towards the building. They swarmed him soon enough and asked about the attack last night trying to get something out of him. When he finally made in to the safe zone the police completely cut off the crowd from the entrance.
Karma kept walking towards the elevator as Naomi caught up to him. They both entered the elevate together before pressing for the 12th floor. While they stood there waiting, Naomi gave him the details for today but he was only half listening to her. In all truth, he wanted to stay home today. Every time this stuff happens his co-workers start telling him on how he should have 10 bodyguards around and to stop working so late into the night when no one is around. The list continues and so does the nagging and it makes Karma want to punch someone hard.
When the elevator doors finally opened he walked out and headed towards his office as quickly as he could to avoid his co-workers. Unfortunately just when he was about to reach his office a voice stopped him.
"Karma-Sempai!" Karma stopped when he heard Haru, one of the office managers on this floor, call his name. Karma turned around and looked at him. Naomi had gone ahead to her own office to start working, leaving the two there in the hall.
"Yes, Haru?" Karma asked with disdain deep in his voice. Haru only smiled before continuing.
"Im surprised your here after what went down last night. Are you ok?" He asked with concern in his voice. Karma sighed.
'At least he wasn't nagging' he thought to himself before smirking at the younger one. "If you think a little assassination attempt will keep me from work, then I think you need to get to know me better, Haru-chan~" He said with a sing song voice. Haru slightly blushed at the Honorific Karma added. The redhead only chuckled at the younger male's reaction. Truth is, Karma didn't mind having Haru-chan around since he always reminded him of Nagisa-chan. He definitely loved teasing him.
Karma leaned forward to ruffle his hair. "Ive got work now so I'll see you on my lunch break, Kay'?" not waiting for an answer, he already left waving him goodbye before disappearing into his office. Feeling better, Karma started on his work for the morning.
----
All morning was extremely busy with everyone dealing with trying to find the assassin and all. Though Karma was sure they wouldn't find him, considering how scared he looked after taking a good beating from him. The redhead kind of made a policy to only beat them up enough to send them running. Don't kill unless you have absolutely no other choice, That way he wouldn't end up being a killer on paper. He didn't tell anyone this policy though.
And as expected, people did come in wandering about his counter defense against the growing assassination attempts. And Karma, like every other time, pushed them away.
Lunch came around and like he said he would, Karma hung out with Haru-chan while they ate. Naomi-san joined in too after she finished most of her little jobs. Karma liked her too since she was such a hard worker and didn't push his buttons when he was in one of those moods. She also seemed to know exactly what he wanted done and when without him even telling her sometimes.
Despite the fact that at the moment, Karma was ignoring the rest of his co-workers, he actually had a pretty good relationship with everyone. They all chatted and ate away during lunch before going back to their own offices. Later that day Naomi came up to him and told him of what the others preposed to do about the assassinations. Karma groaned but heard her out as he leaned back in his chair.
"The others think since you deny every other bodyguard to at least protect you a little, they decided to at least have you go home before 9 p.m for now on" He thought about it and before he could say anything she gave him a look that meant that he was going to do this no matter what he said or though. Sighing, he closed his eyes and nodded.
"Fine, but if I don't get done with work onetime its on you" He finally said looking at her as she nodded confidently. When she left, he thought about the arrangements.
'I guess they finally got tired of me getting attacked after dark' he thought before getting back to work.
