I wrote this in a class once on paper and only got about 5 paragraphs in, so now I'm rewriting it I guess?
This really isn't the best premise and it has the most obvious outcome imaginable, but I mean. You have to start with something.

"Why did they close off the basement, anyway?" Alan muttered as we walked past the gate to stairs going down into darkness. This was probably the tenth time he had asked, and I really didn't understand why he cared so much. It's just a basement, nobody was even allowed down there in the first place.
"Principal said student safety," I said. "They probably believe the rumors of the monster by now too."
"So you don't?" Alan seemed surprised. I think I was more surprised though.
"What do you mean? Of course I don't," I said. "Monsters aren't real. It's silly to believe something like that, we're in high school."
"Sure, whatever. That monster's totally real," he scoffed.
"I'll prove it, Alan. Come on, we're going down there," I grabbed his arm and turned around, and started back for the gate to the basement.
"Whaaa? You're not serious? You're gonna get killed!"
"No, I'm not, Alan. Come on, you're coming with me." I climbed over the gate and pulled Alan up and over after me.
"If you say so... but if you get killed, then it's your fault."
"If I get killed I won't be able to blame anyone for it."
"Alright, fair point. You lead, mister confident. I have a Swiss army knife in case anything goes bad."
"Gladly." I walked down the stairs, and quickly it became clear that it was darker than it looked from the outside.
"Wow, it's really dark here," I heard Alan say from a direction I couldn't figure out. I turned around, but I couldn't see the light from the entrance anymore. I turned around again, and now I had no idea which direction I was facing. I started to get a bit worried.
"Alan?"
"Yeah, what's up, mister confident? I'm right here still." I still couldn't tell which direction I was facing.
"Do you have a flashlight? It's really dark here."
"Oh, nope, sorry. Where did you go, anyway? I can't see you."
"I'm honestly not sure. If I had some light, I could get out of here. I can't even see the steps."
Just then, a blinding light filled the room, and for a split second, I saw the concrete brick walls stained with blood, and the body of a girl about my age staring up at me. Then the lights flickered out. I tried to scream, but my lungs felt like they shrunk down and I could barely inhale enough to squeak. Then I heard footsteps behind me.
I felt a poke in my neck, and felt blood running down my back. I'm dead, I thought. As my consciousness started to slip, I heard a seemingly distant voice...
"Things really did go bad. Good thing I had a knife."
I felt myself collapse to the ground, and my world went black...
