I am sitting at the seashore when I heard his voice."A penny for your thoughts?" He asked then sat beside me.
"It's nothing, don't mind me" I said and smiled to assure him.
We stayed silent for quiet a while after that, until I decided to break the silence.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked still focused on the beautiful scene in front of us.
"Yeah, spill." he answered, turning his glance at me.
I cant look at his eyes right now. I feel like I'm doing something terrible.
"If ever one day, I tell you that I'm going away for quiet a while, let's say three months or more.." I looked at him for response, but he just looked at me intently, so I continued..
"W-will you... miss me? I ended.
A minute of dead air came between us.
"Where are you going?" as if I didn't use the phrase 'what if' before my sentence.
I looked at him, those beautiful orbs of an angel made me smile.
"It's only a hypothetical question, don't worry" I said, intently looking at him.
He turned his glance away from me, and I saw a glisten of sadness in his eyes.
"Well.." he started
"...of course I'll miss you. However, if we remain in contact maybe I will only miss you by 50%" He said plastering a wide grin on his angelic face.
"Is that so?"
"Yep" he answered dropping the last letter.
"Where are you going?" he asked again as if he's very sure that I'm lying a while ago.
"I told you, it's just a hypothetical question"
"Okay, if you say so"
I looked at him, and I saw a tear escaped from his eyes. That broke my heart.
"I'm hungry, let's eat already" he said while standing.
"I'll go after you" I answered.
"Okay. If that's what you want" he said then left me.
I just looked at his fading silhouette as my tears started to fall, while a bittersweet smile was plastered on my face.
"I'm sorry, P"
