I was still dumbfounded with the guy's reaction a while ago. He went out after shouting that I am Rain Dela Peña. What's wrong with that guy? Psyche. It's the goddess of soul and mind. Why the heck is he named after her?Nakaupo ako sa pinakagilid na upuan, malapit sa bintana, sa last row, and I like it because I will be able to see who's staring at me.
Nagdi-discuss lang si Sir Pete (the name he wished to be called with) tungkol sa rules and regulations ng school kaya di na ako masyadong nakikinig, nabasa ko na kasi yun bago pa ako ma- enroll ni Dad dito.
I just find it weird because Sir Pete is glancing at me every chance he could get, even my classmates are like that. Seriously. What's wrong with them?
When Sir Pete finished the rules and regulations, he asked if anyone has a question, when no one raised his hand, I raised mine.
"Yes, Ms. Dela Peña, I mean Ms. Dela Vega?"
There we go again with that name thing.
I stood up and faced him confidently.
"Who's she?" I said
"Huh?" Sir Pete and my classmates looked at me dumbfounded.
"I mean, who is Rain? Rain Dela Vega?" I clarified.
Everyone seemed so surprised with my question. What's wrong with them?
"Why'd you ask Alice?" Finally he called me right.
"I just noticed that you kept on mistaking me with her? Who is she? Does she look like me?"
A long presence of silence was felt as I dropped my question. Is it that hard to answer?
"Ms. Dela Vega, I think that thing is not for you to know" Sir Pete said after a deafening silence.
"And why is that, Sir? It annoys me that you mistake me for someone I don't really know. Even the way you look at me, from the guard, the councilor, you, and that guy, it seemed like I did a very terrible thing, why is that?"
"Ms. Dela Vega—"
**KRIIIIIING**
Before Sir Pete could answer, the bell rang.
"Class dismissed!" Sir Pete said before hurrying to the door as if running away from my question.
My classmates went out too after leaving a single glance at me. Seriously?!?!
"Arggggh" I shouted before throwing myself at my chair. "What's wrong with these people?"
"Hey." I was startled when I heard a high-pitched voice chirped in from nowhere.
Nakakunot ang noong bumaling ako sa kanya. She looks cheerful with that wide smile on her face.
"Uhh.. Hi?" I answered still dumbfounded.
"I'm Marie Faye Perez, you can call me Rie. You're Rhain, I mean Alice, right?"
"Yeah, Alice, nice to meet you"
"Nice to meet you too. These guys behind me are Claire Dantes, Kara Vien, and those are the twins Jester Sy and Josh Sy, they're twins" ani Rie habang isa-isang itinuro ang mga kasama, na hindi ko mapansin kung hindi niya sinabi.
"Hi, I'm ALICE, nice to meet you."
"Di mo naman kailangan i-emphasize yung pangalan mo, narinig namin kanina" nakasimangot na sabi ni Claire.
"Oh. Sorry, kanina pa kasi sila nagkakamali sa pangalan ko, nakakainis lang."
"It's okay, naiintindihan namin" nakangiting tugon naman ni Kara.
"You can't blame them though, kasi kamukha mo talaga siya" sabat ni Jester, or was it Josh? I don't really know.
"What do you mean?"
"Kamukha mo talaga si Rhain, Alice, mula noo hanggang baba. Kaya, di mo sila masisisi" sagot nung isa sa kambal.
"Shut up, you two! You're confusing her" saway ni Rie sa dalawa.
"Don't mind what they said. By the way, gusto mo sumabay sa amin kumain?" pagbaling sa'kin ni Rie.
I just shrugged what they said as I answered, "Yeah, sure".
"Okay! Let go!" she said in a singsong voice then snaked an arm on mine.
Before finally going out, Rie turned to me and put both her arm on my shoulders.
"Hey, what's your problem?!"
I am a little sensitive about my personal space, but she seemed nice.
"We're friends now, right?"
"What?"
"Were friends. Right? Right? Right?"she asked and gave me a puppy eye look. She's a little cheery for my liking though, What should I say?
I look at this five people who are now waiting for my answer, and they all look hopeful.
I looked at Rie before answering her question.
"Yes we are." I guess there is no harm in making new friends.
Rie jumped in glee before pulling me with her, and the other four just looked at me, happiness evident in their eyes.
I made friends. And that thought made me smile.
