Mom and I went dress shopping today. I thought it was gonna be like old times, where we ate food and then walked around and shopped till our heart's content.
But no. It was much different this time.
Whenever I tried on a dress, Mom just looked at me with disgust. Sometimes she would offer comments like "Your fat is hanging out" or "You're too short to pull off this dress" and even "You need to stop eating so much, I can see how much weight you've put on". I don't understand. I thought she was going to be supportive.
And on the way home, she said she was surprised that a boy asked me to homecoming. Apparently I'm "not the type of girl that boys would take a second look at".
I guess I'm not eating dinner tonight. Again. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning, yet apparently I'm still fat.
But I did find a dress. It has lace all over the dress and beads on the neckline. I think it looks beautiful. It was the only dress that Mom didn't say anything bad about while I was in it.
In fact, she said nothing at all.
