The randomer slowly backed away from the firefighter looking guy. If he was a firefighter that is. Danielle could still feel the nerves and love clashing together in her small body. Both men were well built, both looked rather aggressive. Not two people you would like to get in the middle of. As the fight between them broke out, they took it outside away from Danielle.

However, Danielle was the curious type so peered in between the blinds of the office watching the two men argue. Why had he been so protective, he didn't even know her? Caution, and flashbacks fell into Danielle's mind.  She had tried to move away from all of that, flashbacks, nightmares, bad memories.

She remembered the time her previous 'boyfriend' had been way over protective, wouldn't let her leave  house without a valid reason; would never let her hang around with any boys not even her own brother or cousins.  If she ever tried to sneak out without telling him he would harm her inside and out.  Danielle looked at her reflection in the mirror hung on the office wall, pulled her top up to her waist and saw the bruise that changed her life. The one he caused. Tears rushed down her face, she could never trust a guy ever again, not after that has happened.

Suddenly, the savior appeared. He was like an angel, just appeared as if by magic. 'are you ok? he didn't hurt you did he?'. His voice, she wiped her eyes and just replied a not very reassuring 'yeah I'm fine, no he didn't hurt me thanks to y-'. Danielle couldn't even thank him without feeling awkward, she had been here less than 2 hours and already she had fallen madly in love with a stranger, on a strange property.

A fire station. This is not a dating job, it wasn't to find true love. It was to forget the past instead she remembered it all.  As if Danielle was a psychic, the fire engine turned up just like she had been wishing for a while now.  'sorry are we disturbing you?' Interrupted Beast. 'no not at all, he was just asking me if i knew what i was doing. I didn't quite get your name?' lied Danielle, this really wasn't a good start. 'Oh, just call him Flag. Now it could take a while to tell you how he acquired that nickname. Flag, your rather quiet what's up with you?'. He didn't reply. 'Flag? Do tell the story!'

That's when the story began 'Basically, on morning. July 10th 2012 to be exact, we went on a call to help a person out of a swamp. It took 30 minutes for 7 firefighters to come up with a plan. However this one here, was on the ball that day. He spotted a flag in the mist, he ran to the flag. A golf flag in fact, pulled it out of the ground whilst also grabbing a long stick. He then used his line to tie the two together and another piece of line for the person to hold. Holding the stick he reached down into the swamp, shouted to the person to grab the flag or if she could see it the line. The woman grabbed the flag as it was the biggest thing she could see whilst in panic mode. This guy, slowly and gently pulled her on to the safe area of the grass, checked her breathing and pulse. All was fine, by time the other firefighters had thought of a plan, she was ready out thanks to him.' Beast explained to her. Flag gave out a little grin, knowing how clever he was. The grin was the cutest thing Danielle had ever seen. His dimples that appeared as he smiled.

Flag, it was an interesting nickname but she could now understand why he had been called it. If it was up to Danielle she would have called him savior. He saved her life on his own, he had also saved that woman's on his own! Maybe he was the person she needed in her life.

Flag, walked away from the awkwardness of the room. Another several people entered the room, all of different heights, very much like an army of animals. 'ok Danielle let me introduce you to a few of this lot, firstly this is tic toc- she is called this due to us always waiting for her. This is meerkat, lets just say he looks like a meerkat when he looks around or if someone shouts his name. We should let you know what you will be doing, basically follow Flag around he will show what you are to do.' Danielle couldn't cope with this, the nerves were getting to her to fast. She couldn't let her emotions show, so just nodded her head in agreement.

A while later, what felt like seconds came round. Time to go with Flag, and find out how things worked and what i would be doing. Flag walked into the room, in his deepish voice he shouted over to me 'Danielle, come on then let me show you the locker room where our waterproofs are kept.' The agonising, never ending walk to the tiny room only big enough to fit 3 people in it. She was too scared to even be in a room with him, nevermind be in a miniature room with him.  Why had her life been a disaster since birth. She felt like it was time to give up on life, all that was happening was torture, lies, heartbreak; sorrow.

He continued to show her around: the kitchen, meeting room, engine bay, garage and so much more. However, when they reached the garage the wind began to pick up; both of them in the garage, Flag showing Danielle where all the cadets kit was. The cadets come to do basic training every Monday night, there are only a few of them. More flashbacks hit her; remembering the good and fun times she had as a cadet. She missed the people she met there, it was just time to remake that life again as a job this time; being paid for it. ' Danielle, you coming for dinner?' . In embarrassment Danielle replied with 'what? dinner? yeah ok.' Flag began to head for the kitchen, she felt so stupid. Of course he didn't mean a date type dinner, he meant lunch at the station with everyone else. Danielle walked quickly to catch up with him. In disappointment she walked into the kitchen to find another female firefighter, this one wasn't the tallest women in smartly dressed uniform she had seen. 'Hey, i know i am small. Please don't comment i get enough of that. They normally call me squirt, so yeah call me that you might as well.' she could see why she was always getting told she was small, it wasn't a lie.

They all sat down for lunch, well 3 of them. It was much nicer than she expected it to be. Nicely cooked, looking appetizing. Next place to go was the meeting room for a short little meeting, but instead the bells went off again, another call. What could it be this time. Flag shouted Danielle to run to the engine, so that's what she did. Before she knew it we were out of the double fire red doors, with royal blue lights flashing on top of them. The high pitched sirens blasted inside her ear drums, as they fled through all the little cars; eventually arrived at the incident, where there was a fireball there in front, burning that bright i felt like i was next to the sun. She could feel the heat through the window as they got closer. Everyone dashed out but told Danielle to stay sat where she was and observe.
