Watching the other members of the fire service in there attempt to put out the fire was worrying but entertaining to see from Danielle's eyes. Running madly, from spot to spot. Rolling out the hoses, feeding water from the hydrant across the road through the long snake like hoses, getting fatter more water filled them until they were completely full. 2 firefighters stood at the end of one hose, and 2 at the end of another. Other firefighters raced around getting more information to find out if anyone was still currently in the building.
Danielle could see everything from here, the roaring flames that were dancing on top of the house. Not being beaten by the high pressured water. Flag, was usually good in these situations and too right he was; he grabbed another hose and yelled at Danielle to put on protective gear and help him on a third hose. She had to follow orders given to her, especially with her being new to the job. 'but i don't have the training to.' Danielle shouted. 'We have no time to waste, just listen to me and do what i say'. He wasn't happy. Who would be in a situation like this, they had just found out that there is a new born baby and young child still in the building.
As she grabbed the hose with Flag, she looked up to where she was spraying the water and noticed a little hand in the window. It was a child's hand. Danielle began to shake; 'Flag, please tell me you know what your doing, the child is in that room.'
'Danielle, pass the hose to Beast.' he shouted but his sound got muffled in the wind and crackling of the fire. Danielle felt she couldn't just stand there knowing a child and baby were in the building. She wasn't even sure if you were allowed to do this; she did it anyway.
Danielle ran for the engine, grabbed the Breathing Apparatus and all the gear needed. Slipped her tag into the BA board. Ran for the door of the house, kicked open the door as fast as she could. She thought it was best to stick to the walls, through the grey clouds of smoke. The stairs couldn't be seen anywhere. Eventually Danielle found the stairs; began to climb them. Now all she had to do was find that room. The room the hand was in. Flames roared at the sight of her, heating every cell in her body, she found a room. Shuffled into it along the floor, trying to find a little child or baby. The water rushed in the window like a waterfall hitting a volcano. It was having no effect; Danielle then stopped sat up against the wall, she was in panic. Her BA gear had an out. Still no firefighter outside had realised she had gone missing. Flashbacks came to her, this was not the time nor place. Flashbacks from when she was a child.
When she was at her friends and they had a fire. She had hid in the wardrobe at the top, hoping she wouldn't get hurt by the fire, until the wardrobe began to start to heat up faster than the radiator does. That's when it clicked the child may have hid in the wardrobe, to get away from the fire and water. Danielle crawled over to where she could see a wooden thing. Luckily enough, it was the wardrobe. She pulled open the door and tried with what energy she had left to stand up and check the top. Her hand moved around the top. Nothing. Where had the child's hand gone.
Before she had time to think, she heard a scream and a cry. It was a little girls scream; a baby's cry. Looking under the bed, she saw a little foot move. The cry was getting louder. Danielle had found what she thought was two alive human beings. Two very young beings. She started to cough because of the smoke. The child was nearly burnt alive, protecting the baby with all her might. 'Hello... im a *cough* firefighter' with no reply, she felt a hand touch her own it was a child. 'help.' whispered a tiny voice. Danielle grabbed the little girls hand pulled her close to her. The little girl was holding her younger sibling, and she wasn't going to let her go. Danielle tried to walk out of the room; she had lost all her energy. The flames were beginning to burn the children. For their sake Danielle, walked down the stairs. Trying not to fall. Downstairs had re lit itself. The mother of the children was screaming and yelling outside 'save my children'. That's when Danielle realised she must have done wrong as a firefighter shouted 'no one can go in whilst the place is burning'. Danielle felt for the mother, that was a harsh response. Running out of the front door, Beast noticed her. 'Danielle what the hell have you done, get to the engine i will speak later. Take the kids to the ambulance.' Danielle was in big trouble. At the end of the day she felt proud for saving those children. She tried to run to the ambulance, the children had burns on them. They had also inhaled a lot of smoke. 'go over there to that ambulance with your brother, your mummy will be there' Danielle murmured to the children as she collapsed on to the floor. The little girl shouted 'my names Lucy' then ran.
Flag, noticed Danielle lay on the floor ran over to her and checked to see if she was conscious. A tear rolled out of his big blue eyes; hitting Danielle's cheek. Danielle smiled, but Flag didn't notice. He picked her up and ran her over the the ambulance, she had also inhaled to much smoke. She didn't have enough oxygen in her body. The paramedic rushed around trying to find more oxygen. Finally found some and put the mask over Danielle's mouth. Danielle began to wake up, and the little girl, Lucy she had saved came rushing over. Tugged on Flag's PPE and whispered in his ear 'your princess saved me!'.
