Chapter 4

"Niall?" I asked, waving my hand in front of his face.

"I-I-I have a t-t-t-t-" he stuttered.

"Yeah I may have forgotten to mention you will have a tail whenever you go in water for the rest of the day," I said, "Oops?"

*Melody's POV*

"WHAT?!" Niall screamed in shock.

"I said oops?" I said, biting my lip.

"And I said what!" He shouted, pointing at his tail.

"You have a tail. It's just a side effect of the seaweed," I explained.

"What about my clothes?" He asked.

"Gone until you are dry again," I smiled, reassuring him.

"Good. So what now?" He asked another question.

"1st we find your friends, 2nd we get you sunshine," I told him.

"Alright, but how do I hide the fact that I have a tail from them for a day?" he asked another question.

"You're a lot of fun now aren't you?" I complained, hating the questions, "Just don't touch water. Wow! I solved it. I must be a genius."

"Shut up," he snapped, "can we please just go and find my friends?"

"Fine, i'm sorry your highness," I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever," he said, swimming out of the cave.

"So much fun," I scoffed, following him.

"Oi, pretty boy, wrong way dumbass," I shouted.

"You ca-" he started before covering his mouth with his hands.

"What now?" I asked, laying down on some seaweed.

"We are underwater, and talking," he panicked.

"No we're singing," I sighed, "yes, we are. That is a thing. How did you think we communicated? By flipping our tails and someone would just know we wanted sunshine? No, not how it works."

"But it's water, humans cant breathe in water," he stupidly said.

"No shit, sherlock. Merpeople can't breathe on land and we don't panic about that," I said.

"But you were breathing before," he questioned.

"Yes, because I haven't chosen yet, idiot," I said.

"C'mon, just lead me to them," he ended the conversation, swimming off.

"Wrong way!"
