Promise (Kogitsunemaru x Reader)

I swear I can't really write reader inserts, but I'm doing this anyway. God bless me. Oh 

Anyway, in this verse, Swords come as little kids at first, but would grow as they level up and stop growing when they reach toku.

A promise, as beautiful as it sounds.

It was a nice day in spring. Cherry blossoms filled the world with pink, and the sweet aroma relaxed your tensed mind. You chanted the same spell again as you hover your palm over a newly obtained blade.

There he was. A child looking like he haven't celebrated his fifth birthday appeared. He was hugging the blade from earlier. You've done this numerous times, but your mouth was agape at the sight of the new Sword. Unlike the others, he had beautiful long white locks that looked really soft, sharp yet innocent red orbs filled with some strange intelligence, and two sharp fangs in unusual size. What caught your attention the most was his fox-like ears. They looked so fluffy, that you were overwhelmed by your desire to pat them.

That you did. You hesitantly reached with one of your hands to pat the creature. Unexpectedly, he purred as you rubbed the fox ears softly. You felt your face grew hot. It was too cute.

"Because my forging was assisted by a fox, I was named Kogitsunemaru. As an offering of gratitude to the Gods, I was bestowed with the names of both Kokaji and the little fox that assisted him. My body isn't small in the least," the little fellow suddenly spoke up. You couldn't help but chuckled.

"Of course you aren't small. I'm sure you'll be big enough. Soon," you gave him another pat.

Months has passed, and now the little fox looked like a kid around ten.

There he was, covered in sweat that made his slightly tanned skin glisten, eagerly running to you. You spread your arms and welcomed him.

"Nushi-sama, nushi-sama! I beat the old man!" Kogitsune proudly stated. The old man followed some steps behind. You heard his trademark laugh.

"Hahaha! A tough fellow, he is," Mikazuki stepped forward and patted Kogitsune's head. You nodded in approval.

You knew you shouldn't spoil your Swords too much, but you just couldn't help it. You gave the little fox a peck on his forehead. That's when his cheeks heated up, but it wasn't visible since his face was already flushed due to exhaustion from the spar he had with Mikazuki just some moments ago. The next words to come from the little fox's mouth made your heart skip a beat.

"I love Nushi-sama! When I grow up, I'll marry Nushi-sama!"

"Yokika na, yokika na! That was unexpected. Hahaha," Mikazuki casually commented, covering his mouth with his palm.

"That it was," you looked at Kogitsune a little too intensely without realizing it, and the poor little fox thought he made a big mistake.

"N-Nushi-sama! I'm sorry for saying such a weird thing!" little Kogitsune gave a deep apologetic bow.

"Eh, it's okay," you quickly reached for Kogitsune's shoulders and brought him up.

"It's okay," you repeated, adding a warm smile. "You're too young to decide things like that, so maybe I'll give you the answer after you finish growing up!"

"Aruji-sama actually said yes?" Mikazuki interrupted, earning a venomous glare from you.

"Now, Kogitsune," you quickly tried to change the topic, "why don't you take a nice bath and then go to Micchan for a nice lunch?"

"Sure, I'll do!" Kogitsune eagerly nodded, and headed straight to the mentioned Sword.

You watched as the little fox went away, leaving a track of sakura petals behind him. He must be so happy. You let out a small giggle, realizing that the old man was doing the same.

"I'm interested to see how things are going to become," Mikazuki commented. This time, you nodded in agreement.

"Me too," you gave the short answer.

It's been quite some time.

It was late at night, but you're still sitting by your desk. In front of you were a huge pile of reports you needed to finish soon. As you wrote your reports, you repeatedly sighed at the fact that probably you're not getting any sleep untill morning, for you were very tired, and you were at your limit both physically and mentally.

You didn't remember when, but you remembered that your eyelids became heavier and heavier, thus you fell into a deep slumber. As you woke up, you realized that an unfamiliar warmth was wrapping you. You opened your eyes to look straight into certain red orbs.

"Good morning, Nushi-sama," Kogitsunemaru greeted with a wide grin. You were too surprised; you almost slapped him off at that instant.

"What the--?! How?!" was all you managed to spat out before covering your heatening face with your palms, only to have Kogitsune prying them open at the next moment.

"Stop it, you--!" you wildly frailed around to free yourself from the fox's grip.

"You dozed off, Nushi-sama," the Sword answered with an amused tone, "and I, being nice, brought you here,"

"But you didn't have to sleep here! With me! In my room!" you screamed, internally and externally.

"You looked cold, I had no choice," Kogitsune placed an innocent expression on his face, but you know innocent is nothing like Kogitsunemaru.

"That's no excuse," you huffed, stopped struggling because you know that it was useless. That made Kogitsune's grin widen.

"Anyway, Nushi-sama, I have something to ask," Kogitsune's face suddenly turned serious. You were surprised at the sudden change, but you tried to sound as normal as possible as you answered.

"Go on. You won't stop untill you get seomthing you want, anyways,"

"You remembered the promise you made when I was younger? That you'll marry me when I'm done growing up,"

"Whoa," the little fox's statement made your eyes widen and your face flushing once again. You frantically searched in your jumbled brain for an answer.

"Well... sure, of course I remember. What's with that?" you asked, and although you had already expected what will happen next, you couldn't stop your heart from skipping a beat as he continued.

"When will you fulfill your promise? It's been so long, and I'm now a fully-grown adult,"

That was right. The Kogitsune who's embracing you now is no child. He's now probably older than you physically. With those bulging muscles and really tall composure, there's almost nothing left from the toddler fox you gently held up in yout arms after you created him.

"Well..." of course you were at loss of words.

"Should I claim you now?" Kogitsune suggested while licking one of his fangs. What was that supposed to mean?!

"I can wait no longer, Nushi-sama," he continued, and all of the sudden, his huge frame was towering on top of you.

"E-eeeeh?!"
