The wheels of my skateboard rolled across the freshly dried pavement after days of heavy rainfall. Wind blew through my hair and against my face as I took the opportunity to look at every little thing I passed by.

My phone started ringing in my pocket so I started to pat at each of them to find it. It sucks how seconds later I found me, and my newly cracked phone, on the ground.

“I’m so sorry! I didn’t see you comin’.” the stranger spoke while handing me my skateboard.

“Uh, yeah, it’s fine.” I gave a small nod and picked up my skateboard before walking away.

After a few seconds I realized I never even looked at his face. So when I turned around to find him I had no idea what to look for since all i heard was his voice. With a shrug, I turned around and skated away.

When I returned home I could hear my mother conversing in the kitchen. I took the opportunity to sprint towards the stairs so that I wouldn’t have to talk to her.

“I heard the door close.” my mother spoke with amusement clear in her tone.

I internally groaned. Once she started talking she never stopped. Not even after she said all she needed to. Without much choice, I dragged my feet towards the kitchen and took a deep breath before pushing open the door.Waiting on the other side was, of course, my mother, and two guests of whom I’ve never met.

“Hello.” my annoyance subsided as my curiosity took over as of who the two strangers were and why the heck were they sitting in my kitchen.

“Luna, honey, we were just talking about you.” Of course she was. “This is Maura and her son Niall, they live right across the street.” my mother was planning something. I could tell just from a look at her.

“Oh, it’s nice to meet you both.” my words came out kind, but my thoughts were a lot harsher. She knew how much I disliked meeting new people while being all sweaty. I believe in a good first impression. They sent me smiles anyways though so I guess they didn't mind. Or they weren’t showing it.

The woman, Maura, had soft wrinkles, blonde hair, and a lovely smile. Her son, Niall, also had blonde hair and a nice smile, but it seemed more forced than it should have.

“I invited them over for dinner so go shower and look presentable. Dinner will be ready in an hour.” she said.

This is what she had planned then. My outfit wasn’t even bad. Just some shorts, a band tee, and my converse. No need to be all rude about it. But i just rolled my eyes before going back the same way as earlier before she called me.

My shower consisted of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. When I got out, I blow dryed my hair, and put on some mascara and eyeliner before getting dressed. Since I didn’t really care how I looked in my house, I decided to grab the first dress I saw and some gold sandals.

It was a pale pink, high low dress with a cutout in the back.

Once fully dressed i sprawled out on my bed and stared at the ceiling for the rest of the time being, replying to messages every few minutes. The cracked screen mocking me for not having a case on this stupid IPhone.

My mom called me down for dinner minutes later, and so I took a deep breath before opening the door and walking to the dining room.
