Sherlock had grown much happier over the past couple weeks or so. He began to decorate around his closet and bed, hanging up posters of the periodic table, a printout of an article on all 243 types of tobacco ash, and even a cheesy kitten poster John persuaded him to hang. Sherlock also placed a sheet music stand and a violin stand in the space between his bed and closet (Of course, all this behavior caused Dean to grow more nervous). He would play every once in awhile, often late Saturday and Sunday mornings, when he returned from his outings of the previous night. Even though Dean was a little annoyed by the music, it seemed to make Sherlock happy, so he didn't say anything.

Typically, Sherlock was absent Friday and Saturday nights, so Dean had taken to inviting Castiel over for movie night every week on those nights. Friday was Classic Night, including films like The Sixth Sense, The Music Man, and The Breakfast Club. Saturday was more recent films like Batman, Now You See Me, and The Theory Of Everything. Of course, movie nights often turned into movie one-in-the-mornings which turned into falling asleep on the couch at 6:00 am in the middle of rewatching Prisoner of Azkaban for the thirteenth time. Almost every weekend was a three day, two night movie marathon sleepover in Dean's dorm. Occasionally, when Sherlock did return, he often brought John with him, and they would sit and watch for a little, then leave again. Sometimes Sam and Gabriel would join, but they were usually off doing their own thing.

On the rare occasion that Dean wasn't with Castiel, he was either snapping pictures around campus, or perusing conspiracy websites. He was unusually interested in the supernatural world, but he had no idea why. His parents never really told him stories about monsters, and they weren't religious at all, so he labeled it as a weird hobby and embraced it.

Dean would also have lunch with his brother every once in while, and they would talk about schoolwork, friends, and possible dates. Of course, Dean hated when Sam brought up relationships and tried to avoid the subject at all costs. Little did Sam know, one was already in the works.

It was early Saturday morning when Sherlock awoke to feel a pair of arms wrapped around him. He lifted his head slightly and met the closed eyes of John Watson. John was breathing slowly and evenly.

Sherlock slowly pushed John off of himself, careful not to wake him up, and made his way to the kitchen. He made bacon and pancakes, and pulled out orange juice and strawberries. It wasn't long until John trudged sleepily into the kitchen, sitting down at the table. Sherlock set breakfast in front of John and sat down in front of his own breakfast. They ate in silence for a while, mostly due to drowsiness, but when they were almost finished, John asked Sherlock a question.

"Are you okay?"

Sherlock was surprised for a second. Have I been acting in a way that would lead him to believe that? He couldn't think of any deciding factors, so he responded.

"Why would you think I'm not?"

"I don't know. You seem... sad."

"Of course I'm not sad," Sherlock said gently. "I'm with you. I don't need to be."

"Is your.. " John hesitated. "Is your family life okay?

Sherlock thought for a minute. He definitely had a disappointing childhood. He had a mother and father, sure. A brother, sure. A family? Not even close.

"Yes. Of course. Why wouldn't it be? Stop asking." Sherlock snapped, causing John to flinch slightly.

"O... Kay," John said hesitantly. "Sorry I asked."

John got up, put his plate in the sink, and went to get dressed. He immediately left Sherlock's dorm.
