Percy's P.O.V.

Mom woke me up around 6 o'clock onTuesday. She said she thought something good was going to happen to me today. She also wanted me out of the house by seven. She didn't say that but l could tell.  l didn't know why, but l learned why later. l got out of bed and took a shower.  l let the warm water run down my back. lt felt so good. After about fifteen minutes, l got out and wrapped a towel around my waist. lt was blue with fish on it. l walked to my room and put on blue jeans and a green tee-shirt with blue sneakers. l left my room and went out to the kitchen where Mom was making blue waffles. l grabbed four and drowned then in syrup. They were gone in less than two minutes. l kept on eating four at a time until l had had about two dozen.  l got up and l brushed my teeth. lt was about 6:30 now, so l had about half and hour until it was time to go. So l then went in my room and got out my ballpoint pen. Now, you might think l'm going to draw or something, but l'm not. l uncapped it and out sprung Riptide, my sword. l practice my techniques for a while, until Paul comes in and says, "Grab your backpack. Time to go." l capped my sword and left my room. At the door l grab my backpack and go get in the car.

Paul drives us to Goode and as soon as l get out of the car, l’m surrounded by girls, asking me out.  l say no to all of them. Of course. I would never betray Annabeth. l was used to this, though. Being the most popular guy in school, all of the girls wanted to go out with me, even the ones with boyfriends.  Any way, l get to my locker and l start hearing rumors about a new girl. My first thought was, GREAT, ANOTHER HEART TO BREAK. My second thought was WHO IS SHE? l didn't have to wait long to find out. l got my books out for my first three classes. English with Paul, (my favorite class) Math and Greek (also a favorite). Paul got me everything in Greek and l loved seeing what the Greek teacher got wrong. My thoughts were broken when l felt someone put their fingers on my Achilles heel and hiss in my ear, "Perseus Jackson!" Then l froze.
