Hey Guys! I know I haven't updated in forever, and I'm sorry. But, hopefully some of you are still hanging on.

Anyway, I had to write a short story in my writing class and I ended up really liking it so I am going to publish it on here.

Let me know what you think!!

The Thinking Man on Pigeon Mountain

"Just as he thought his world couldn't get any smaller, he saw his best friend... with him."

James ripped out the piece of paper, crumbled it, and chucked it across the room. How was he supposed to write his new children's book when she was the only thing on his mind? James knew exactly what to do. He grabbed his jacket and kite and went out the door. He walked as fast as he could, thinking he would run out of time, and eventually started running. He had one destination in mind; Pigeon Mountain. This was James' special place, so special that he could make it do whatever he wanted. Pigeon mountain allows James to think about anything that he wants to think about. Today, he needs to think about her. This place was in the middle of an ocean and you had to row a boat to get there. As James approached the dock where his boat lay, he could see the mountain; so close yet so far. He hopped in the boat and rowed himself out to the mountain.

As he approached the mountain, he could feel his mind slowly become open. He felt like he could finally breath and let his mind wander. Wander anywhere and everywhere because here at his special place, nobody could hear him. He got out of the boat and climbed the tallest of mountains. Once he reached the top, he took a moment and just let out a giant breath. The weather outside was beautiful. It was a cool, spring day - perfect for Pigeon Mountain. James grabbed his kite and slowly rolled it out, letting it fly into the air. Once it reached out way into the sky, he let his mind take over. The kite for James was like his own little world. It turns into a little airplane that flies all over the world. In this little world of James', everything went the way he wanted it too. He had friends, a job that payed a lot of money, he's got the girl that he's dreamed of having since high school. That is part of the problem of why he can't get her of his mind. Every thought, no matter what it is, leads back to her. If only he had gotten her back in high school when he had the chance. Now, it's too late and it always will be. Here at Pigeon Mountain, he has come up with many scenarios of how he could have made his life better.

Why can't I just stop being so awkward around her? Why did I give her up? Why am I not the guy she is with? Why did she wear the dress I got her for her birthday to her reception? Does she have any idea how much that hurt me?

James didn't realize he was crying until he couldn't see his plane anymore. He blinked away the tears and looked around. It was getting dark and James had to leave. When it gets dark, his Pigeon Mountain shrinks back into the ground. Kind of like Cinderella - at midnight, everything goes back to normal. James slowly climbed down the mountain and climbed into his boat. He rowed back to shore and tied up his boat. Today was an unusual day for James as his visit to Pigeon Mountain left him more depressed then relieved. He walked home, slowly, looking down. James let his mind wander off into dangerous places and space off. He hadn't realized he had done so until he ran right into someone. They both fell to the ground.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" She asked. James looked up... and gawked. She was beautiful. She had long, wavy brown hair and chocolate brown eyes that you could just melt into.

"Excuse me?" She asked.

"Huh?" James asked, still gawking.

"I asked if you were okay. You took a pretty big fall there." She said, extending a hand.
