HIS MOM PULLS into the driveway of their new home or shall I say for fourth home this year. She told him it was gonna be the last move, but she's told him that same story hundreds of other times and still the same old same. Liam's become used to it by now he already has a set routine for dealing with the trails and tribulations of being the new kid.
"Liam!" His little sister Mackenzie yells out taking out his headphones finally getting his attention.
"What?"
"We're here" She exclaims eagerly taking off her seatbelt before exiting the vehicle.
He takes a look at the house and reluctantly decides to get out the car and filling his mom and sister to the trunk. The house is bigger than he thought it would be. He expected an apartment or trailer but never a full on house.
"It looks way different from the pictures." He states grabbing his duffel bag from the trunk.
"This place was a lot cheaper than it looks sweetheart." His mom admitted handing off a large brown box to Liam.
Liam carries the box up to the front and as he's reaching for the doorknob the opens and a tall man answers it with a welcoming smile on his face.
"Oh you must be Liam." the man says taking the box from his hands. "Let me help you with this." he continues.
He walks into the house taking in the scenery as the man walks back up to him.
"I'm Elliot." he says holding out his hand. Liam stares at Elliot's hand making the situation awkward.
"I live next door." he says as Liam continues to ignore him.
"Liam!" His mom yells out from the door getting his attention.
He runs over to help her with the box as she her attention goes straight to Elliot.
"Oh Elliot you're here." She says handing the box over to Liam.
He goes his mom an annoyed look before running upstairs into his room. He looks out of his bedroom window as the boy in the next window gets his attention. He watches as the guy takes off his shirt looking sweaty. He makes eye contact with him and for a while it's like they're the only people on the planet.
The guy walks over to his window closing his blinds so that Liam is no longer able to see him. He's confused at first until he realizes how much of a weirdo he seemed just watching another person change.
Liam's head was reeling with a bunch of different emotions none of which he enjoyed. He was once again the new kid, but he was determined to make this year different. To make it better.
