Friends Might Be More Then What They Seem

Today is the day of the big football game. Our school the Warriors vs the undefeated Spartans. You get ready for school even though you don't want to. You were embarrassed the other day for running into the wall during lunch because you were staring at who was thought to be the cutest boy in the school. His name was Christopher Romero So you were doubting to even get up this morning because you knew by then the whole school would know about your little misstep, but your parents wouldn't let you stay home. Your parents dropped you off at school you walk through the doors. Everyone is doing what they do best, gossip and text. You start walking to your class even though you are 20 minutes early. As you pass the girl who will do anything to get recognised, Abigail, she asks

"How's your head?" referring to the wall incident

"Very well actually thanks." you say

"Chris, uh yeah, he now thinks that you are a stalker."

You walk away from her words of ridicule. As you do, your best friend Gio comes to your aid. You and him have been friends since the end of junior high.

"Buzz off Abbi, how's your nose after the" he pauses

"4th surgery, was it?"

As you both turn away from her and the weird clique she has, he told you to ignore Abbi. You gladly accepted.

You have the same first period as Gio so you walk to class together. He is the best and only friend you have besides Victoria who you have been friends with since you can remember. Two class periods later you are sitting with Victoria at lunch. You both sit in the middle table of the room it was the table designated for the left out people. As you eat your cafeteria burgers and tater-tots,

"So you do know that Chris is going to ask somebody to the football game as a date right?" Victoria says.

You thought he wouldn't pick you because of what happened. However, you were freaking out inside and praying that it would be you. Long story short Will took a girl named Cassidy by leaving rose petals in her locker and a note. Which in Victoria's opinion was ridiculously over board. Gio wasn't going he thought that he wouldn't have time with his homework and stuff. Victoria wasn't going because she said it was a waste of her time. So without your friends you weren't going. So you look at the ceiling and think. First you thought about Chris. You thought about his gentle smile his hard jaw line and his flowing hair. You thought about his eyes. Oh his eyes were like stars that were a bright blue color. Then you realise that Gio has really cute eyes. The way that they shine in the sunlight and how is seems like brown smoky quartz. You then notice his cute qualities of his personality: fun, caring, understanding, spunky, kind. You can't help but to develop small feelings for him. You smile just a bit then you fall back on your bed giggling to yourself. You suddenly sit up right, you stop thinking, you say to yourself that he is your friend. Just your friend. He probably doesn't like you anyways like that. Little did you know Gio was thinking of you in his room the same way you were thinking of him. He texts you. You look at your phone. You read "Want to go to the game? I have my work done and need something to do." You reply with " Yess :P" So he is picking you up in 20 minutes...in those minutes you take your time getting ready. You first pick out a cute outfit but then realise you're going to a football game so pick out a sporty but casual outfit. You look at your phone, only 5 more minutes. You put on mascara instead of full out makeup and head downstairs. He knocks on the door, you answer it. You walk to his car with his hand on your back. He opens the car door for you. You drive off.

At the game you sit shivering cold because it's almost Winter and the nights are darker than usual. You forgot your jacket, but you don't ask for his because you think he needs it more. He notices you shivering. He takes his big brown jacket and folds in around the both if you. You sit super close together. Chris And Cassidy sit behind you two, but you kinda start changing your mind about Chris and Gio. So you don't bother to look at Chris or Cassidy anymore. You get a bit tired so you lay your head on Gio's shoulder. He lays his head on yours. You blush and smile gently so he doesn't notice. The Warriors make a touchdown you and he don't stand up you just sit there. He finally says something.

" To be honest I really like you. I have since sophomore year."

You pull away and look up at him you never noticed his smile and his cute dimples before. Electricity runs through your veins

'as he puts his arm around your waist. You get butterflies fluttering around your stomach up to your heart. You feel it beating faster and faster as he hugs you tight. You wrap your arms around him in response. You think that you have had feelings for him but kept shoving them off. So once again you pull away just staring up at Gio.

"What?" He Says,

"Nothing" you say in reply.

Then he stares back at you.

"Heheh, what?" You kinda giggle

He Says nothing. You start to say something but don't, you instead look down to break the stare but he brings your head up with his right hand on the side of your cheek so you look up. His soft lips press against yours. You Press back against his lips with yours. You hold it for about 3-4 seconds then depart. The Game ends and he takes you back to your house you stand on your porch with him. Gio hugs you, but you kiss him instead. You hold his hand firmly while his other hand goes up your back, to your neck then down. You shudder at his cold hands under your shirt so you hum just a bit then you both stop. You save it for another time...
