Haley POV
My eyes slowly open. I carefully bring my hands up as I rub my head while it pounds.
Where am I?
I sit up gingerly while I look around. I'm in Danielle's room, but where is she?
My body feels like someone beat the shit out of me. I don't understand why. I drank, talked and went to sleep. I shouldn't feel this awful.
My eyes go to the door as it opens. I tried to focus in on the figure, but I couldn't see if it was Taylor or Danielle as my vision wasn't there yet and they were moving too fast.
"Seriously?"
Taylor.
She picks up the UV bottle. "Did you really think it was smart to get drunk with my suicidal sister when you were supposed to be watching over her?"
Taylor's voice echoes in my head. "I was trying to make her comfortable around me."
My vision clears up to see Taylor roll her eyes at me. "You might want to get up and get ready for school. You don't have much time."
School. For some reason school completely slipped my mind last night. "I think I'll skip today."
I fall back on Danielle's bed, which is comfier than Taylor's might I add.
"No." She demands as she starts pulling me back up. "I need you to help keep an eye out on Dani."
I groan as I get out of bed. "Why do I have too? She is your sister."
I hear a huff from the doorway. "I don't need either of you looking after me. This fake caring shit is annoying already."
Taylor goes over to her sister. "You obviously do." With that being said she exits the room.
Danielle goes over to her laptop but keeps her eyes on me. "You can go too." She is angry.
I bet what I said offended her. Go figure. I always say the wrong thing.
I approach Danielle and place my hand on her arm. Her eyes went straight to my hand as I realized I may be too touchy with her. "Are you mad at me?"
"Why would I be mad?"
We both know why, but I don't push it. "No reason. I'll see you at school." I walk by her. Before leaving completely I stop at the door and turn to her. Danielle's outfit is simple, but I thought a compliment wouldn't hurt. "You look nice."
I get ready as fast as possible. I had unwanted encouragement from Taylor who was in the driveway honking obnoxiously.
I could barely get in the vehicle without Taylor asking questions.
"Did you find anything out?" She glances at me. "Did she tell you what was wrong?"
She takes off down the road. I take a deep breath. "No and if I did, I am not sure if I would tell you."
Taylor slams on the break causing my head to whip forward then back, just what my raging headache called for. "Why the hell not?" She shouts. "She is MY sister."
If Taylor wants to know, she should be the one putting in the effort. She shouldn't be using me and expect me to tell her everything.
"If Danielle wants to tell you then she will tell you." I start off with. "If she is in danger to herself, I will tell you like I did yesterday. Danielle isn't opening up to anyone. If she ends up opening up to me I don't want to ruin that trust. I am not a monster."
Taylor looks angry but she continues to drive and not argue with me. "What did you guys do last night besides drink?"
"I told her about Grace." I hesitantly tell Taylor.
