Let's start with a very popular and well-known AU-- Underswap!
The Premise
Underswap's plot is overall very similar to Undertale's, with one key difference.
Every character is swapped (hence the name, obviously). Powers appear to swap, in at least some cases.
For example...
Sans is excitable, energetic, hunts humans, etc. He can no longer teleport, but is quick like Papyrus.
Papyrus is lazy, chill, and follows Chara (swapped with Frisk) around. Has more powers like Undertale!Sans.
Locations also may be modified-- Grillby's is now Muffet's place, and she sells baked goods instead of drinks and barfood.
This is the case with all main characters and some side characters. Personalities change, but the names remain the same. However, many characters have gained nicknames from the fanbase and are recognizable by those names (EG, Sans is Blueberry).
Fanbase Reception
This AU is INSANELY popular and has its own fangame, plenty of fanart, RPs, stories, etc...
Lots of love for the concept, and overall it seems well-done.
Personal Opinions
I've honestly never cared much for Underswap, but I can respect what it's doing, and the concept is solid. I do like the character designs (except for Napstablook, gah...)
Well executed, it's sure to please any fan of character swaps!
