I woke suddenly to the sound of a car door shutting, and a motor starting. I looked around me to realise dad must be leaving for work. I grabbed my phone from under my pillow and checked the time, it read 5:05am, I groaned and looked out towards the window to see it was still dark outside, but you were still just able to see. I layed my head back onto my pillow and chucked the blankets over my head, falling straight back to sleep again.

I woke to the beautiful sounds of birds singing in the trees, but then there was one bird that sounded like one of those chicken things you give to dogs and it sounds like a goose dying or something. That bird was starting to piss me off, and it wouldn't shut up! I finally found the strength to stand up and walk over to the window. I opened the window and screamed out "shut up!" The birds instantly flew away leaving me to smirk at their cowardness.

"Good job" I looked to the left to see a girl around my age standing in the middle of the gravel road laughing.

"Who are you?" I asked, a bit shocked that someone was standing there.

"Oh right, sorry, my names Bella, I heard that people were moving next door so I decided to come around and say hello" she says walking up closer to the window. "But instead I come over and hear them screaming at birds" she laughs.

"Yeah sorry about that" I say scratching my neck, "my names hunter, do you wanna come inside? I just kinda woke up"

"Yeah sure" she says walking around the side to the door.

I chucked on a shirt, grabbed my phone checked the time quickly (10:27) and jogged over to the door to open it and let her inside. She walks in smiling.

"So when did you get here?" She asks looking at the house.

"Last night" I say "we had no lights working in the house so we just went to sleep in a random room"

"Oh I think I might be able to fix that, it happens all the time at our place" she then walks outside, I follow her around to the back of the house to find a power box.

"See, ok, all you have to do is come out here and flick the black one off and the red one on and off twice" once she did it we went back inside and turned on the main light, having it illuminate the main room of the house.

"Do you need help with anything, like getting stuff in the house or cleaning up cause I'd love to help, my parents are working so I can do whatever." She asks gesturing to the tonne of objects thrown onto the grass by dad.

"Yes please" I say laughing. She instantly laughs and we start grabbing all the stuff and bringing it inside, when its all inside she says that we can sort it into piles where everything will go. So we had a lounge room pile, kitchen pile, my pile, dads pile, bathroom crap and other random junk for throughout the house.

Bella kindly offered to do all the sweeping and wiping dust off of stuff, while I sorted out all the objects and food. So I grabbed my guitar and bags and headed upstairs, to the left, down the corridor and at the end was a door that lead to a huge room full of picture frames, a few chairs in it and a white sheet draped over something really big.

I put my stuff down and went over to take a look, pulling back the sheet I find a shiny, black, grand piano. I have always wanted a piano but my parents said it would be too difficult to have one lying around, so they got me a guitar instead because it was a smallish instrument I could carry around. I ran my fingers of the top of the smooth piano, slowly lifting up the cover to expose the beautiful white and black keys underneath. I pushed down on one key to let off a beautiful note that echoed throughout the room. Why would someone just leave this here? Maybe they just couldn't be bothered trying to take it.

Then I realised that I am meant to be packing up the stuff, so I gently closed the lid of the piano and put my guitar over in the left corner, I highly doubt dad would want to be in this room so I claimed it as mine.

I grabbed my duffle bag and walked out of the room to the only other door in the corridor, I pushed open the door to find a huge double bed, a bookcase filled with random books, a few cuboards and a huge window that over looked the forest. As I looked out the window I noticed a small shack sitting in the middle of the forest, it was quite far away but I heard noone was able to live out there because it was a nature park or something? Oh well.

I dropped my bag on the floor and headed down stairs to complete everything else.

By the time we were done it was 2:30 in the afternoon, I had cleaned up all the stuff, bella had cleaned the house practically and she helped me set up my room. I told her she didnt have to do all this but she just denied it and said she had nothing better to do, so I made the best lunch for her that I could make, a B.L.T (bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich) because we didnt have much food and its practically the only thing I know how to make. She loved it though.

We hung out all day talking and wondering around the house, until we found a door. It was upstairs in the piano room down in the right hand corner, a small door with no doornob, Im surprised that I didnt notice it before, I was to excited about the piano I guess.

"I wish it would open" bella said, trying to pull the door open. It wouldnt budge. "Creepy".

" I wonder where the key is?" I said looking around the room thinking it would just magically appear out of thin air.

"I'd laugh if the key had a button shape at the end of it" she said and we both started laughing remembering to that kids movie called coraline.

"Oh well, I bet you we'd find it one day, if I ever find it I will wait until your here to open it" I said.

"Cool, I live just down the road, first right so come around anytime" she smiled and got up slowly, looking for the key. We searched for a bit longer, through books, checking in between floor boards and little gaps, through the piano and then decide to give up after a while to go chill on the couches and stuff.

When we were sitting down I had a question.

"Hey bella?"

"Yeah"

"Did u know the people that lived here before?"

"Yes, and no, my parents wouldnt let me go near this house cause an old man lived in here. They said he was crazy and after a while he got old and died, he had no one else in his generation to pass down the things in the house so they just left it here for the next people."

"So.... could the house be haunted?"

"I hope so, that would be so much fun!"

I laughed and then realised something. "Hold up, when we drove in, the house had two stories but there was another window next to where my room was. When I went up I could only find my room and the piano room?"

She sat there in silence for a second and looked up at the stairs, "I dunno?".
