Vanoss x Brooke
Brooke's POV
Staring back up at the large pent house that I am now leaving, I had wondered if I would be missed in any sort of way. What would they do once they all woke up, had they even cared..?
All I had left was the money I've been saving up all these years behind Evan's back, any change from my spending sprees, lost dollars, side jobs I had completed without his approval. Coming up to 10K in a secret bank account I had. Also two bags filled with my clothes, makeup, and some books. Leaving everything else behind. Even my cell phone and weapons.
My head pound with pain, and I wanted to cry more but just couldn't. Begging Brock all night to just stay here, but in the back of my mind I knew he didn't have the ability to change Vanoss' mind. I decided to leave before anyone got up, not wanting them to watch me leave, at the risk of never saying goodbye personally. Except for a note I wrote to Brock.
'Brock, you have always been my guide as well as my best friend. Teaching me the ways of the life you live. I am eternally grateful of your consideration. If we do meet again, don't be too late, Early Bird.
-Brooke'
Taking one last glance I walked down the steps carefully to the taxi I had called 30 minutes ago. Putting my bags in the trunk before getting in the back. Looking all the way up at the top floor where my family slept peacefully.
"Where do you wish to go?" The man asked annoyed. I thought for a moment. I was officially free to do whatever I wanted.. no strings attached... that is why I had disobeyed Vanoss right? To be free of the chains that they pulled me in after they killed my father?
"The Waffle House." My stomach spoke for me.
________
Vanoss' POV
Hearing the soft shuffling outside my office doorway, I knew who it had been, and where she had going. Refusing to let my protective nature to go out and make sure Brooke had everything she needed before she went her own way. It was best to just sit and wait for that front door to shut before I made my way to go to bed.
Was it my protective side? Or just my hidden controlling side? She needed to be free of us.. too easily dependent. Especially of me.
After a few moments contemplating, and arguing myself to go and stop her or not, I saw it was too late. Outside my large full view window had the girl called a taxi with two suitcase bags. I knew even if I ran down as fast as I could, she'd be gone. I was too tired and worn out, facing a hangover from a night of drinking.
I'd watch the taxi leave, before sighing and lifting myself up from my chair. Brock was gonna be pissed at me for a long time, I knew it.
Hell, even I was mad at myself.
