The drizzle of the rain pitter pattered against the bus' window, of course it is going to rain on the anniversary of their death and in less than a week it would be the anniversary of her aunt Kayla and Victory. How many times that she had thought about suicide she couldn't even count on hand.
Imagine being trapped in a world where everyone hates you, all hope is lost there is no turning back now. Imagine getting beaten up everyday for no reason, mostly for the entertainment of others. Imagine having 500 lbs of dumbells on your shoulders weighing you down never getting a break for you get lower to the ground until finally you just collapse, because you can't take the pain anymore, you can't take being weighed down when with all your heart you would rather be free, but the only way to escape would be death. If you can imagine that, you can feel what Daphne feels, and you could understand why she would want to escape from the place of misery she calls life.
Her bus still had an hour until the bus arrived at school so she foraged through her backpack grabbing her phone and headphones, slipping them on she turned one of her songs(say something). Then once again leaned her head against the cold sleet of glass, closed her eyes as a tear escaped.
She knew she couldn't do this much longer, her dream of going to college was ruined, for she had barely enough money to keep her hygienically healthy.
The only thing that kept her alive was her promise that when she found out what her parents had actually done, that she would make it longer than them, that her life would be better. She thought that if she did and died natrually then her parents would be proud of her.
The bus pulled to a stop, all the kids hustled out while she sat in awe looking at the gang waiting by the fence. The gang that beats her up, and threatens to rape her. She silently sat there debating on whether or not she should leave the bus.
Her brown eyes closed and she let out a sigh, as she threw her back pack on one shoulder, and gripped it firmly. She cautasly walked down the isle looking at every seat as if something would jump out. When she got to the stairs, the gang saw the nervous Daphne and smiled.
She closed her eyes and once again opened then for a while before slowly going down the three steps one by one. Her feet that were covered by vans, were instantly soaked as she stepped in the huge puddle of water.
She didn't bother to look at the group of young men that were eyeing her as she took off in a runnig spree towards her classroom. Her headphones bounced up and down as the girl ran. She ducked her way through people as they called her horrific names that she was now used to.
She came to a stop when she found her locker, she quickly dialed in the code. 1.26.97 The day of her parents death, that was probably the only thing she could remember right now. The locker swung open and she unzipped her bag. Getting all the books she needed then started walking to first period.
Her body was pushed as she tried to get past the gang that had somehow caught up with her. The headphones were ripped off, and she looked up to see who did that, Logan had.
THe leader of the group, the one that always did drugs, the one that used to have a crush on her in 3rd grade and asked her out. Daphne, of course rejected saying her parents would not allow it. He vowed to get revenge on her that would scar her for life. Everytime he bullies her, everytime he hits her slaps, or when he lets words only Daphne could understand leave his mouth.
"This isn't the revenge"
He would whiper after every beating as they walked away, it scared the girl even more, what could they do that was worse than this? She didn't think anything.
For the first time in a while she spoke to him,her voice cutting off a couple of times. "Please, stop" The girl pleaded with every thing she had inside her. Logan snickered looking around at the other childish boys. The bully walked up as she stood frozen in fear, unable to move her limbs.
His laugh was maniacal whilst he played with her hair from behind her, she yelped as he tugged a pink strand of hair. He slapped her ass,and she wasn't used to anybody touching her, sexually. The rest of the gang watched quietly from a distance.
He was one of the reasons that she wanted to release herself, she knew she would have to cut tonight for all the words that hit her heart with such force it knocked her back.
He picked up her weak and bandaged arm,the one she had cut just this morning. She felt pain but ignored it that was what she wanted.
Pain. She wanted the pain to overwhelm her body because in her and everyone around her's eyes that's what should've happened. She should've been the one that died, not the others they didn't do anything.
"Aww did the little whore cut herself?" Logan asked her with fake intrest. Daphne gulped and kept her mouth shut, knowing that any words she said would be used against herself.
He let her arm fall to her side as he walked infront of her bending down to peer into her brown eyesshe kept her gaze blank even though her eyes were looking at his blue ones her eyes weren't fixed on them. Without warning he grasped her chin between his index finger and thumb.
"Bitch, look at me! And answer the damn question" He yelled at her. She fixed her emotionaless eyes on his that were filled with fury and vengence. Her eyes were innocent and her face was blank.
"Y-y-yes" Daphne said as quiet as possible. "B-b-but why?" Logan mocked her while pouting still holding her chin. "I-Is it b-because y-your p-parents d-d-died t-today?" He let go of her chin and Dpahne fell on her knees, her hands in her face crying.
Logan stood above her smirking he then knelt beside her and whispered in her ear "The vengance is coming sooner than you think" only causing her to go into louder fits of sobbing.
Why did this all happen to her? Why can't she just die nobody would care, in the future would she get married and have little children running around her house? Or would she die alone, no funeral would be held no one would care they would probably bury her in the dirt no coffin on the side of the road?
All her family left her when her aunt died. All she had left was the will that her parents had left in her name, all it was, was a little house in New York and 10,000 dollars but she won't take anything out yet, not yet.
The bell rang in her ears causing her to look up and realize the halls were empty not a single soul in sight. She slowly got up one leg at a time, grabbed her back pack and looked around finding her headphones on the ground picking them up she ran to the girls' bathroom and locking the door behind her.
