I could tell by the look in Shane's eye that he was lying but I that it would be better not to say anything.
Sawyer: when do you get out of here?
Shane: after 9 tomorrow morning I'm free to go.
Joey: that's great!
I had a feeling something was up. Joey and Shane were my best friends and I had to think of something that may help...
Sawyer: maybe you should stay with us for a few days? You know, until you finish recovering and stuff.
Joey and Shane both smiled at the same time.
Shane: if it isn't any trouble...
Sawyer: you're more than welcomed to stay whenever you want Shane. What are friends for?
~Shane~
*later that night*
Joey had demanded that he shared a bed with me when the doctors had yelled at him for it.
Eventually they gave up and let Joey have his way.
It was the middle of the night and everyone but me was asleep.
Sawyer slept in the chair for visitors and Joey slept in my bed as close to me as possible.
His arms were wrapped around my waist, his face hidden in the crook of my neck, and our legs were intertwined.
I expected his touch to burn my still somewhat sensitive body but it cooled me down instead.
His touch was cooling and if it were anyone but him I wouldn't have let them touch me.
Ever since finding me on the side of the road yesterday Joey has been keeping a close eye on me.
Does he somehow know what happened? Or was he just being over protective?
I also had to talk to Joey about ending our 'friends with benefits'...
I didn't want anyone, not even Joey, touching me like that for awhile... That and it has been hurting me to know it will never be anything but physical.
But could I really tell Joey no if he wanted to continue it still..?
Maybe I shouldn't say anything and just suffer in silence...
As long as Joey is happy that's all that really matters.

I have kind of a long authors note for you guys today:
1) for those who have been curious I update every Wednesday at least but sometimes I forget on Wednesday so I just post later in the week and I will be trying to post more than once a week.
2) do you think Shane will continue his 'Friends with Benefits' thing with Joey even though he doesn't want to or do you think he will end it?
3) do you like Sawyer as a supporting character? Should he be in the story trying to help Shane and Joey more or should I just back off on him as a character?
4) I'm thinking about entering this story in a contest on wattpad. What do you guys think? This story and '50 Shades of Dawson' are my most popular stories but I thought maybe this story would be better fit for the contest.
