Part 18
•Sawyer•
When Joey found Shane he was in bad shape.
It wasn't obvious to Joey yet but I knew that he could only be hurt like that if someone attacked him and I think he may be drugged.
I drove like a madman to the hospital and the moment I came to a stop Joey picked up Shane and ran towards the hospital.
I quickly parked and went after them.
By the time I caught up to them Shane had already been taken away and Joey was in the waiting room.
I took a seat beside him.
Now the only thing to do was wait...
*Shane*
I wake up alone in a hospital bed.
I started to panic as thoughts ran through my head.
What if they figured out what had happened between me and Chris? What if they told Joey? What if I had gotten a disease from him?
A doctor and a nurse suddenly walk in.
Doctor: how are you feeling Shane?
I felt as good as I could feel right now.
Shane: Better.
Doctor; I just have a few important questions to ask you if you don't mind.
Shane: I don't.
Suddenly the doctor looked at me with concern.
Doctor: you were attacked, can you remember the attacker or the details of the attack?
I had to lie to protect Joey...
Shane: I don't remember anything after leave my friends, Joey and Sawyer's, house.
Doctor: I don't mean to alarm you Mr Dawson but there were some signs showing that you my have been raped, do you recall anything like that?
It took me everything not to shudder.
Shane: I don't, and I don't think I was raped doctor, I think I would remember that.
But I did remember it, every fucking detail that happened to me...
Doctor: it also seems that your attacker may have drugged you and your body had an unusual reaction to the chemicals in it. You're fine now but we want to give you a dog tag explaining it in case it's something publicly used and you have another reaction like that.
Shane: ok, when can I get out of here?
Doctor: we want to keep you over night to make sure there's no second reaction but you have two visitors and they can stay over night with you. You are free to go after 9 tomorrow morning.
The doctor left with the nurse while Joey and Sawyer entered the room.
Joey and Sawyer: Shane!
They both ran to my bed side.
Sawyer: what happened?
Joey: are you ok?
Shane: I'm fine guys, I just had a weird reaction to some chemical I came in contact with.
I couldn't tell them the truth. Joey believed it right away but I saw doubt in Sawyer's eyes.
They can't figure out, I have to make sure of that if I wanna protect Joey...
