I felt a warm hand gently stroking my face, slowly I opened my eyes to see Ahkmenrah, concern and sympathy written all over his face. “Amirätah can you hear me? Are you okay?” He seemed genuinely concerned but why, I'm fine, I only just fainted, I didn't mean to make him worry. “.... Mmmh… Y-yeah I'm fine, I just fainted. I'm sorry I made you worry, I was waiting for you to return, but then… Then the Huns showed up and started to shout at me, I tried to tell them that I wasn't a threat to them, that I meant no harm, but I guess they didn't believe me because they started to chase me…. That's….. That's how I ended up here…. They cornered me and…. I… I…. I fainted.” I explained as he helped me to my feet.

Ahkmenrah introduced me to Larry the Guardian of Brooklyn, who was our night guard. They led me back to the Egyptian Hall and explained to me about the Tablet of Ahkmenrah and the magical power it possessed, by bringing all the exhibits of the museum to life… I guess that means I really am…. D-dead…………. “Hey are you okay Amirätah? You look as if you're about cry.” No I'm not okay, I miss my mother and father, even my obnoxious little brother Ahkmed, why did this have to happen to me! “Amirätah?” Ahkmenrah placed a reassuring hand upon my shoulder, I lifted my gaze from the floor to look at him, while holding back tears; our eyes met and I could tell then that he knew exactly how I felt, he knew the same pain I did: the loss of your family and friends, to be homesick, to wake up in a strange place years later in an entirely different time. I felt him pull me into a hug, and suddenly I couldn't hold back the tears anymore; they started to flow like the Nile River.

Ahkmenrah held me till I calmed down, it was as if he knew exactly what I needed in that moment;  he released me from his reassuring embrace right as Larry and another strange man entered  the room. The man was Caucasian, had a brown mustache, and spectacles upon his face, he wore a khaki hunting uniform, a brown hat, light brown leather gloves, brown riding boots, and had a sword attached to his belt on the left side. “Theodore Roosevelt twenty- sixth president of the United States, it's a pleasure to meet you… I'm sorry my dear what did you say your name was?” Roosevelt said as he politely shook my hand. “Amirätah.” I replied with a smile. “That's a beautiful name, if I'm correct it translates to “love” in English…. Am I right?” “Yes that's right.” I'm surprised he knows what my name means, I mean he's clearly not Egyptian, so how in Raw’s name does he know. “I'm curious Theodore Roosevelt, how did you know what my name meant?” He was quiet for a minute before answering, “I traveled to Egypt once and learned some of the language as well as how to read hieroglyphics.” Oh so that's how he knows, that's awesome. “Oh, and please call me Teddy!” He said before turning around and exiting.

Larry looked at his arm and said that sunrise was coming, saying we had to return to our exhibits and return to the way we were before we woke. What does he mean…?

****************

Amirätah seemed to be confused by what Larry said, so I tried my best to explain to her that all of us aside from Larry, are only alive at night, she looked disappointed  and once again sad, I completely understood how she felt. We said goodbye to Larry as he left our Hall; I then turned to Amirätah, she was slowly making her way to her sarcophagus, a frown plastered on her beautiful face. I caught up to her and helped her get in, “Tomorrow I'll show you around and introduce you to everyone here officially.” She gave me a slight smile and thanked me as I re closed the sarcophagus, then made my way to my own and closed myself inside. The last thing I thought before I reverted back to my mummy state was: I would give anything to see Amirätah happy, to see that beautiful smile of her’s.

After Ahk closed my sarcophagus around me I laid there thinking that maybe things won't be so bad here after as long as I have Ahkmenrah as my friend, though I wouldn't mind being more than friends with him.
