Reaching in ecstasy forward to Envelope your tender heart in mine
To feel you breathe To feel you LIVE
For the first time in months Closing the gap in Two strides And wisping through you
You were sobbing Ripping out of your own chest Hard rock against the melody that should have been ours Head banging that should have been embracing
Screaming nonsense And white hot irons Across my body ice inferno No man is an island
Then why do I feel so alone All these people Swarming around me And yet
And yet
And
Yet
No one that I could Plead for help with Screeching against the strings that I thought Would be played beautiful You were smashing against my keys My ivory keys
Tinkling with the beat of the waves Against me
I was sprinting headfirst Into the flames Stuck in a limbo in between
Waking up
and where I thought dreams were supposed to happen
Only to find out That you had woken up
But I had
Not.
