A soft voice could be heard, drifting along the halls. Nadia smiled softly as she sang to her baby, not born but still in the womb. She was laying in bed with her husband, but he was fast asleep. She was worried and singing to the little one was very comforting for herself, as well as the restless one. She knew, somehow, that things were going to be lively soon. Being extra careful with her belly, she slowly sat up, moved her legs onto the soft carpeting of the Royal Suite they stayed in and stood. She drew a robe around herself and quietly walked out into the main room.
Turning on the tv she shook her head. It had been on the news station her Arthur had been fond of watching and she was now looking at a chaotic situation down the street, five blocks away. On the tv, a colorful band of heroes had been fighting for hours, it seemed, and were wearing down. She glanced behind herself at the bedroom and nodded, before leaving the room to the designated communication room.
Walking on soft, red velvet carpet, she trailed her hand along the golden and bronze wallpapering and set herself into the chair. It was designed to help with her pregnancy comfort and was very relaxing to sit in. Turning a few dials and pressing a button, she sent out a distress call, hoping to call in a few of the Leaguers, then leaned back in her chair and waited...

Jeanne Renne, well known for sarcasm and attitude, shook her head. She was trying to get the sweat out of her red colored and messily styled fringe. She backed up slowly and nodded to her partner in crime, so to speak, Ace. The young man frowned a little and kind of backed away, before closing his eyes and disappearing. When he reappeared, he was standing atop a truck a little bit away. He had a grim look on his face. He didn't want to be here, but he knew he had to help. This time, he'd brought some people with him. Patting the back of his closest ally, he nodded towards the fight and the taller male smirked, jumping down to join the fray. He'd brought Cyborg because the two knew each other from high school and they went to college together, which meant they'd done Hero'ing a lot over the last six years. On the other side of Ace was a small female. She had long dark hair and was in an actual costume, unlike Ace the Spacecase and Jeane, who wore jeans and shirts. Though Jeanne wore the same shirt every time she Hero'd, she changed out her other stuff all the time. Looking around her, the small woman jumped down and muttered words. This made a strange light shimmer around them before engulfing the small cul-de-sac. Houses around them seemed to vanish into mist and suddenly creatures of unusual shape started to appear. She quirked a soft mouth into a smirk and called out, making the creatures rush the man they fought. He screamed in fear, as they were demonic looking, and crouched whilst covering his head in his hands. The figures dissipated and Jeanne stood over him with a pair of handcuffs.
Soon enough, Wonder Woman and Superman landed by them. The man was gibbering in panicked mutterings about giant six headed beasts oozing with slime and Superman sighed heavily.
"Did Sight REALLY need to use the scarier ones? This man is low level..." he complained, putting his hands on his hips and looking down at the four of them.
The one known as Sight shook her head. "They are worn out, Supes. Look at them." gesturing to Cyborg trying to keep poor Ace from falling over from sheer exhaustion and Jeanne sitting on some rubble with her face in her hands. This made Wonder Woman raise a brow and she scoffed. "Amateurs..." was her annoyed mutter. She shook her head and picked up the villain, whose name they never got, and walked off to lock him away in the Super Max they had for supervillains. Superman twitched an eye and glared at her before turning to the four youths.
"Look, you guys need to train more and get used to a lot of fighting...would you like to stay with the Titans for a while to see how they do it?" he asked them, clearly worried for their safety and health.
Jeanne made a soft and annoyed sound. "I'm in college," she said with distaste. "Those guys are kids."
Sight closed her eyes and rubbed them a moment. "I'm an adult with a job." was her comment after she stretched and yawned. Ace was the last to comment, looking down and away and soft-voiced. "Um...I'm not really much of a fighter...so..."
These reactions made the poor man sigh and lower his head a bit. After a moment's thought, he made a decision. "If you all get into trouble, someone needs to contact the Justice League, alright? You don't have to fight as much if we come and assist on serious problems."
Sight and Jeanne nodded and confirmed for him. Jeanne opened one eye and uncovered it with a spread of a couple fingers. "I'm a telepath, as you know, so if I feel the need to I'll call ya."
After they got him to leave, Sight crouched by the poor woman on the rubble. "Psyche," she said, touching Jeanne's shoulder and calling her by her Codename, "are you going to be ok getting home?"
Jeanne just groaned softly and growled something profane under her breath. Ace patted her head a moment. "Hey, Mal, wanna go watch a movie or something?" he asked of his Cyborg friend. The two of them snuck off and Jeanne waved tiredly. After a moment, she got up and leaned on Sight.
"So, when do I get to see you again?" she asked, looking at the ground as the young lady walked her down the block...

Nadia sighed with relief when the two Leaguers went to the aid of the young heroes. She shook her head as the people from the news station talked about what they'd seen from their choppers. "Mist and Illusions..." she whispered, smiling a little and walking back to her bedroom. Climbing into bed accidentally woke up Arthur and she winced. The poor man slowly sat up and looked around blearily.
"Nadi? What are you doing up?" he asked, looking obviously exhausted but clearly worried. "Another nightmare?"
Nadia shook her head and chuckled a little. "I just couldn't sleep...then I saw some heroes fighting that fool, Captain Boomerang, and I got worried. They looked so tired...I sent Diana and Clark on down to aid them but by the time they arrived, the four had beaten him with an illusion..."
This caused a little curiosity in him and he tilted his head to the side, ignoring the soft light coming from the partially curtained window. "Is it really so early? Did I sleep the night through?" he mumbled to himself, then patted his tired cheeks and got up to go get ready for his work as the Ambassador from Atlantis.
While he was away, she got herself set up and made a few calls. Smiling happily, she ordered some food and sat in a comfortable chair in the den and waited patiently for the friends she'd called to come by. Picking up a book, she trailed her fingers along the softly polished mahogany table. After about thirty minutes, a polite knock was heard at the front door to the suite. When she got the door open, a man in a pair of jeans, old beat down boots and a hoodie grinned widely at her. "Carter! It's wonderful to see you! Thanks for coming by. Come in, come in!" and stepped aside for him. Entering the room, he whistled long and low. "Well now, he got you set up in a pretty nice place!" and he turned around to give her a gentle squeeze of a hug.
He chuckled a little when a bump came from her belly. "It always surprises most people when the baby kicks..." Nadia said, warmly amused and touching her belly a moment. A few moments later and in came his girlfriend, Shiera Saunders, and there were more greetings.
A few hours later, Nadia was being escorted somewhere she knew well. She was being brought to visit the Daily Planet to do an interview with Lois Lane and Clark Kent for a political piece they were doing about relations between the surface and Atlantis.
