When Crissy heard her door open the second time. She didn’t even wait fer what Aga had tae say. “I bloody told ye. I’ll no’ be come’n down. I’ll take me dinner in me room. I don’t want tae see or be forced tae bloody talk tae the beast tha’ my da’ is force’n me tae marry.”
When Aga didn’t reply, Crissy had a dreaded feel’n tha’ ‘twas not Aga who just walk’d intae her room. Slowly she turned and gasp’d tae find ‘twas the devil himself. Shite she thought, I’ve put my foot in me mouth again.
“So yer da’ is force’n ye tae marry me?” He asked calmly. Crissy frowned at the hurt tha’ briefly passed in his eyes before his expression close off completely.
Again her pride flared up no’ tae back down even though she felt guilty. “Aye, he is.”
“And ye don’t want tae be married tae me?”
“Nay, I don’t. I don’t want tae leave the home I’ve always know for an unfamiliar place tha’ I don’t. I don’t want tae marry someone I don’t know and has been rumored tae be a ruthless man who cares no’ of anyone but himself.”
“Aye, I see. And what if we got tae know each other?”
“Still tae never see me clan again… I could no’ stand it.”
Crissy saw his expression change from closed tae gentle. And then he started laugh’n which only made her blood beat in her veins. “And pray tell what ye find tae be so bloody funny.”
“Well I find yer rubbish ideas of no’ see’n yer clan again tae be funny.”
“Oh the nerve of ye. Tae laugh at someone’s concerns only proves the rumors about tae be true. Ye are the devil.”
“Nay lass, I am but human. And who gave ye the silly notions tha’ ye no’ be see’n yer clan?”
“Well tisn’t tha’ what happens when people wed. They go off and never return?”
“Nay, plus I do no’ think yer da’ and ma’ would have it. Yer ma’ would probably ride out tae demand answers herself. And fer yer da’ he’d probably chop my head off fer no’ bring’n ye tae visit.”
It was Crissy’s turn tae laugh at his words. Her sweet father would never let her ma’ out of the castle wi’out him and as fer chop’n his head off, he would not do tha’ either. He laid his swords down along time ago. And now the only reason he picks them up is tae spar wi’ her brothers and his warriors. She went tae say so but her words died on her lips when she saw the fire of desire was burn’n in his eyes.
She swallow’d and started tae back away from him. She wasn’t comfortable wi’ tha’ look in his eyes. He was make’n her nervous. When he started forward, her eyes went wide and she let out a squeak.
Crissy felt her bum bump intae wall behind her. O’ now she was in trouble. ‘Twas easy tae be mean tae someone when they weren’t look’n at ye as if they were about tae eat ye. As an effort tae stop him she ask’d “Should we no’ make our way tae my da’. Tha’ is why ye came fer me, right?”
“O’ nay lass, I think I ‘ave changed me mind and would like tae do something else.” He said huskily.
She swallow’d again visibly. She had tae make him stop b’cause she wasn’t sure if he start’d she would stop. And thought scared her. Shite, now tis tae late, she thought dismay’d. He was lean’n down tae and touch’n his mouth tae hers before she could think another thought. Slowly he move his lips over hers tae coax her tae yield. When she didn’t, he lick her bottom lip.
Crissy let out a loud moan and his tongue slid b’tween her lips to lick his way around her mouth. Her hands which had been about tae push him away fisted intae his shirt. Malcolm pressed her firmly against the stone wall wi’ his body. When one of her hand found their way up tae the back of his head tae fist in his hair and pull him harder intae the kiss, he growled.
Crissy’s knees started tae buckle, so Malcolm wrap’d an arm around her waist tae hold her up and in do’n so pushed her against his hardness. Crissy gasped again. He tilted her head back tae deep’n the kiss and she let of another moan tha’ was muffled by his kiss.
Malcolm left her mouth tae travel kisses down her cheek tae her jaw and down her slender neck. Crissy finally got some of her sense back and started tae push him away. “We should stop.” She said breathlessly, desire ‘twas still pooling in her belly from his kiss.
Malcolm grunted and kept travel’n lower wi’ his kisses.
“Please. Da is wait’n. And this… is inappropriate.” She begged. If he didn’t stop now she was go’n tae lose all control. Finally he step’d back.
“So, ye agree tae marry me?” He said wi’ a lopsided grin and half-masked eyes.
Crissy gasped. “Is tha’ why ye kissed me, so I’d agree tae marry ye.”
“Nay, I kissed ye b’cause I want ye, but I also want ye tae marry me.”
At that all the fight of not marrying him went out of her from his words.
“If I marry ye, will ye not turn mean b’cause of what I said tae ye?”
“Nay, I’ll no’. Ye woman and yer silly ideas of men. I’ve had a lot worse said tae me before. And I thinks it be me men ye should worry about ye left them in a little bit of an uproar about how ye treated ‘em.
Crissy frowned. “Well then I guess I should apologize tae ‘em fer my rudeness but the next time on of ‘em trys tae take my horse, they’ll be sorry.”
Malcolm chuckled at her feistiness. He admired it in her though wi’ anyone else he would stomp it out of. “Shall we go below now? Or we could return tae where we left off.”
Crissy blushed at his words but said, “aye, we should go below before they send someone tae get us.” She turned tae the door but before she got tae it, she remembered tha’ she probably looked a mess. Scurrying over tae the bowl of water on the table in the corner of her room, she splashed water on her face and dried it off. She ran her hands through her hair a couple of times just in case. Then she turned tae give Malcolm a smile tha’ made his desire flare up again and walked tae him and out the door and down below the stairs.
