Love is a forbidden song
sung by the rebels.
The bittersweet sound
of the voices claiming,
"We're in love! Praise God; we're
in love!"
Love is full of empty promises
and eyes are stained with tears
and glazed over as if to look like
glass.
Promises of "I love you forever. "
are said, but never kept.
The world has lost some
to the treacherous thing
called Love.
For, love is a forbidden song.
Yet, lovers will sing on and on.
